So far today, other than the usual "I can't download xyz" complaints, the LC software has not been generating very many complaints/anomalies. Personally I'm not all that interested in Europe LC at the moment and intend to wait for North America. This will give enough time for any major problems to shake out in ORBX LC software.

Another major Orbx release - guaranteed reading entertainment for the next couple of weeks. All the a$$ kissers fade away (for a while) and the numbskulls are back - great stuff.

I noticed at AVSIM that both the Orbx a$$ kissers and the Orbx haters are both out in force; and while the content they deliver is at polar opposites, their method of delivery is done in the same childish way.

AVSIM has locked out visiting viewers for months now so if it is newer than NZNI release I'm in the dark as to the conversations on that forum.

Well, someone has come down with "something", that's for sure. One of the major complaints of OpenLC Europe is repeating textures. They showed an example from typical airline height. It looks no better than the default FSX in terms of repeating textures. One of the Orbx team members got on there and said they were aware of that, but it's still a limitation of FSX from the 1km x 1km grid pattern. The team is working on it. Yet, in the ad for OpenLC Europe, one of the main claims of it is that it "greatly reduces" terrain repetition. From the examples I've seen, I'd say more like, "Barely, if at all." If they haven't fixed that issue by now (release date, and a greatly delayed date at that), I wonder if this limitation is even fixable at all? If not, they'd better get that hype out of the ad about how well repetition is reduced. It's simply not true (hhmmnnn, seems to me this issue of what's said and what actually is delivered has been part of at least one discussion here of late...).

That's assuming you even do get in. Just now I got the message the servers are too busy and to come back later (I don't think so!). I guess they have an overwhelming number of people on there... like more than 3. No loss.

All true but I can't get churned up about that anymore. I'm with Dave, it's become entertainment.

Avsim used to be a place I visited for a large quantity of product opinions, a few reviews and a file source. Now it's just a pain in the ass to get anything done there, whether it's trying to read the forums, find a file, or get an over-view of the latest releases.
AirDailyX has everything but the forums and file library, and is a much snappier site to visit. Guess where I've been going?

Ok guys - $29 with my old fart discount. Only looked at Scotland so far but it's better than the fat scenery. Wonder if those who purchased SCO\ENG\WALES\EIR etc can request a refund? For those, like me, with FTX SCO here's Edinburgh in LC EU.

Jeez, that does look good. Are you seeing much in the way of repeating textures? How are the airports compared with the fat region strips? Also, how are you disabling FTX Europe?
