For those with Norway (Orbx) and Vector, you will have to disable the ENBL (Forde) airport elevation manually in the Vector Configuration tool. It doesn`t happen if you run the auto configuration program. I found this out the hard way after a long and rough descent into ENBL, followed, of course, by a Missed Approach and diversion to an alternate when I discovered the runway was under 50 feet of dirt.
I won`t comment further on this, except I wonder if they are looking for Beta Testers. There seems to be a shortage of them around the FS community.

Thanks, Glenn. I haven't been to Norway in a while so I'm glad I didn't find this out the hard way.

Yeah, here's what I found when I broke out: The answer is on Orbx's forum, but you have to dig for it to find it. Guess it's too much effort to sticky it.

Actually, better disable all the Norwegian airports in Vector (about a dozen, roughly). I just did a flight into Kristiansund (after what had to be the longest final approach ever due to a ground speed of about 45 kts with the wind) and same deal. I then went and disabled all the airports in Norway that are in Vector. Don't know if that will cause any other problems, but the next airport I do an approach into that breaks me out on short final for a sod strip, will be the last one for this area.

You forced me to look - here's what I got for ENBL Forde. 'Group' - Europe 'active' and no 'hybrid'.

Wait. Norway isn't supposed to be affected by Vector, is it? It's a "fat" region. Now I'm really confused.

Good grief, the number of bugs coming from Orbx lately really seems to be escalating. I might suggest to them that a name change to Orbxnado might be in order.

Wait. Norway isn't supposed to be affected by Vector, is it? It's a "fat" region. Now I'm really confused. It isn't. Except for the parts that are. Vector has no bearing at all on the fat regions. Except for the parts that do. Those parts, however, are only certain parts but not the whole part. Except that it can affect the whole part, but doesn't necessarily affect the whole part. In fact, it may not affect any part. I find as long as I don't have the sim open now, my state of confusion and frustration diminishes greatly. Hope that helps. If it does, then you need the kind of help I can't give you. Good luck "Mr. Phelps" Actually Fritz, to be serious, I'm totally confused as well. My settings were at Europe, not Global (whatever that means in this situation). I didn't think it should have any effect either, but I've had a similar thing happen (with ground textures though, not elevations) showing in PNW. This stuff is getting more and more complex all the time and I'm not even sure Orbx is able to fully predict what's going to happen when they add stuff anymore. It sure isn't making much sense to be, to be honest.

Good grief, the number of bugs coming from Orbx lately really seems to be escalating. I might suggest to them that a name change to Orbxnado might be in order. Yeah, I don't think even Orbx can predict the effects on their current sceneries when they add new ones anymore. And much of it doesn't seem logical. Remember the patch they had to issue to Parry Sound to correct problems it created at an airport in Alberta, 3500 km away! Now we have an installer issue that seriously affects your ability to get ice (I don't have that installer, fortunately because without ice, my winter ops goes out the window and I paid for the ice option!). I'm not sure if it's the complexity of making things fit in, or whether their QA and/or beta testing is diminishing, but you're right about the increasing number of bugs on releases. You'd think they would have checked the ice option in the installer at least once. That would have pointed out to them that "inactive" is not spelled "incative", and that this mistake was carried over to quite a few entries. Anyway, I've decided that I'm not going for anymore updates or purchases for a while. If something new does come out, then I'll wait 30 days before I purchase so the bugs (hopefully) will have been worked out. At least Orbx I used to trust completely (their attitude might suck at times, but their products were outstanding right out of the box), but even here it's now a case of caveat emptor for me.

Took a little trip up there yesterday. Here's a shot approaching Forde, ' fall' activated and also Hybrid. I continued and landed , all seemed normal for the season. Sorry the 'shot' didn't work here. We'll try later. carm =

Hmmnn, you sure you have Norway enabled Carm? That looks a lot like the default scenery to me. It's a bit hard to tell as you're still quite a ways from the runway, but that big clearing on the far end/right side of the airport doesn't look right (among many other things). Might want to check that when you get a minute.
