All I have installed is Global and Vector. no extras for Norway etc. Yes I agree on both accounts, on second looks, those fields are odd.

Wait. Norway isn't supposed to be affected by Vector, is it? It's a "fat" region. Now I'm really confused. It isn't. Except for the parts that are. Vector has no bearing at all on the fat regions. Except for the parts that do. Those parts, however, are only certain parts but not the whole part. Except that it can affect the whole part, but doesn't necessarily affect the whole part. In fact, it may not affect any part. I find as long as I don't have the sim open now, my state of confusion and frustration diminishes greatly. Hope that helps. If it does, then you need the kind of help I can't give you. Good luck "Mr. Phelps" Actually Fritz, to be serious, I'm totally confused as well. My settings were at Europe, not Global (whatever that means in this situation). I didn't think it should have any effect either, but I've had a similar thing happen (with ground textures though, not elevations) showing in PNW. This stuff is getting more and more complex all the time and I'm not even sure Orbx is able to fully predict what's going to happen when they add stuff anymore. It sure isn't making much sense to be, to be honest. VECTOR will indeed affect scenery in FTX 'Regions' hence the autoconfigure tool and additionally the manual disable/enable fuctions for airports the 'autoconfig' might miss as in this case. Attached are two screen shots. One with ENBL enabled in FTX Vector and the other with ENBL disabled. The shots were with FTX Europe selected in FTX Central v2, which includes the Norway scenery. As you can see with ENBL enabled the runway is below the terrain and when it is disabled the runway is normal. (VECTOR w/ENBL enabled) (VECTOR w/ENBL disabled)

After looking at Spud's above, I see that I have ENBL disabled plus several other "EN's". Must have been 'automatic' 'cause I didn't do it.

Yep, I disabled all my Norwegian airports in Vector (the auto-config tool didn't do it for me). ENKB was the same way, so that's why I got proactive and disabled all of them. I hate breaking out of the scud to find the airport unusable.

carm states that he has ONLY Global Base and VECTOR installed and not the FTX Europe full fat region which accounts for differences in what he is seeing as compared to the screen shots Glenn provided. FWIW I can't remember if I manually disabled ENBL previously or not (it was disabled in my sim). I do know that I did NOT disable all ENxx airports manually but in my VECTOR v1.3 All ENxx airports are disabled and I have ran the Autoconfig routine many times. As stated it should be run after installing or disabling scenery in FSX. While Global Base and VECTOR improve FSX to a very great degree when your operating in the location of ORBX full fat regions and you do not have those regions, anomalies are most likely going to crop up. I disable the FTX Europe full fat region and then enabled just GLOBAL (no Hybrid) to match as closely as possible carm's installation. (old 'default' mode). The result is:

Yeah, what a difference from the full fat scenery, eh? Amazing! Typically I'm only flying around Norway for a month or two leading up to (and maybe a bit after) Christmas, then it's back to NA. But I'm glad I've got Norway (and the UK). Norway has some of the most fun approaches and airports anywhere, but you need the fat region to really make them shine.

Ok, thanks, Spud. I may be on the way to understanding Vector. Maybe.
