I just got another update from Milviz for the C-310 that I bought some years ago. I think this is the third update so far. I'm very impressed with the continuing interest and support that Milviz has shown for its products. I can't think of any other developer that has shown this kind of commitment. Hats and horns to them.

Fritz, I also got an update to the C310R to v3.140421. However when I ran the installer nothing was installed and also it deleted everything else conserning the C310R on my HD. Older 3.13 version and the files in my FSX. Tried 4 times and nothing. So, curious I accessed the download link from the e-mail and noted I had two more downloads. Did NOT download anything but went back to run the installer again. Same, no results, sixth time nothing. Accessed the e-mail link again and still did not download files. Noted that two downloads remain. When I clicked cancel it suddenly told me download limit had been reached. Needless to say an e-mail sent to Milviz about the problem but no reply as of this time. I can't even re-install the old v3.13 because the installer wiped it out. Never have thought that much of the Milviz folks but the C310R was nice. Of course Milviz is a non-entity to me from now on.

Just finished e-mailing Milviz again to tell them on the 11th try I got the aircraft to install in my FSX but still would like the two additional downloads to be re-activated. Not sure why it decided to finally write the files into the simobjets/Airplanes folder of FSX but its there now and working. I hate computers!!!!

Have you heard anything back yet Spud? Did you have to uninstall the previous version or have all the previous updates installed before loading this one?

Well, this is truly bizarre. I did install the update. Nothing showed in FSX. In the SimObjects folder, everything is there, so I opened the aircraft.cfg file. The model and panel aliases in the aircraft.cfg are all for the Mindstar and GTN updates (which they charge for), but the panel and model folders are for the original installation. Someone put in the wrong version of the aircraft.cfg files. Too bad they didn't include the wrong panel and model folders while they were at it. You have to buy the updates that give you the option to install the Mindstar and/or GTN avionics, BUT they won't give you support for those if they don't work, NOR will they give you a refund. But you still have to pay to get them. Yeah, I don't think so.
I re-aliased the model and panel folders in the aircraft.cfg and everything seems to work at that point. They say they updated the drums in the altimeter - can't see any difference myself - they are still wrong. Otherwise some minor interior improvements. Again, can't see what they did. Anyway, up to you if you want to install it, but given Spud's issues, I might be inclined to leave it alone. At least for now.

What was the problem with the Altimeter drums in the first place. I just did a long circuit and things look okay to me.

Well, I swan. I'm glad I didn't try to install the update right away. Guess I'll leave well enough alone for now. What a pain!

Well, it turns out that the update is for the Mindstar and GTN models ONLY! It is NOT an update to the 310. The altimeter drum fix is for the Mindstar, I gather. The stock version is fine. None of this was explained in the e-mail I received, and obviously it wasn't clear in the installer. This is a poor show, indeed, and I take back my praise. Boo!

Well, goodie. Thanks for the Readme file guys. Oh wait, they didn't include one. Oh well, you don't need those anyway. Jeeez.
Yeah, the paint kit is actually pretty good on this airplane Don. The airplane itself is pretty decent overall. I'm just less enamoured with the manufacturer than some, but even that is limited only to the head hauncho.
Carm - as Fritz said, one of the drums on the altimeter was stuck at one number after installing the Mindstar avionics package. It didn't affect the aircraft if you didn't have the Mindstar. That said, the drums are pooched anyway. If you are at 2,990 ft, it will read 3990 because the thousand ft drum is "digital" and not analogue and rolls over too soon. It's always been that way on it so that's nothing new. They didn't fix that.

I'm just thankful that I finally got the A/C re-installed! Don't give a tinkers damn about updates but I do mind that originally the installer wiped out ALL of my previous 310 files including the downloads and then counted me out for the supposedly 2 more downloads on the update page from Milviz. I rarely use the 310 anyway so I'll just keep the version I have now and avoid being "suckered" into such a debacle again.

And I see they still haven't issued an updated email saying this is for those with the 3rd party avionics options. So people will still be getting sucked in. I'm sure that's not their concern though.
Yeah, I'm staying with what I have. Or I'll simply delete it and go with other, better (and more up to date) aircraft.
