This is far from the first time they've been grounded I'm afraid. If their TV show is depicting anything close to what's really going on there, then good riddance. I lived through the days when most bush ops were like Buffalo, but fortunately most of moved on from that. Again, if the TV show depicts how things really are there, I wouldn't fly with Buffalo at all. And you can't blame the pilots in this. They are simply trying to get time, and if you (as a pilot) make waves, then you are going somewhere else to fly (you hope).

Well, those old airplanes are great and all but there just ain't no way you can fly them anymore on a commercial basis, my view. No parts, no knowledge, and they leak oil like you would not believe!

Round engines and oil are like PB n' J. Any round engine that isn't leaking oil is a hazard to any and all who wish to 'slip the surely bonds of earth'. The Beaver wasn't designed with and oil filler pipe in the cockpit because it looked good! If you want an 'oiler' fly the old Navy HUP; it had a "TANK!" engine in the middle and thats a no shit!
