Reading Glenn's experience with the Lear 35, I think "nothing like that could happen to me" - right. Recent sales challenged me to pick up the N.D. AS350 which I've always admired. With an N.D. product already in my hangar and doing OK, research was felt redundant - not. They had to replace the entire FDE on this one - new air file and several acft.cfg - changes from a modified B206, believe it or not. Still flies on the ragged edge of control - probably a bit of that is me. The frosting on this cake is the disclaimer N.D. issued with the patch - "If this patch is installed, the warranty is no longer valid". It's like my old FAA academy instructor said "don't ever assume - makes an ass out of you and me".

Sounds like my experience with their AW109. Even after a couple patches it didn't really work well. I would avoid that one too. I like their EC135, but their stuff is pretty hit or miss.

Sorry to hear that Dave. I have the EC 135 and it's really good. That is the ONLY thing I have ever bought from Nemeth that I could say that about. If you think I have a low(ish) opinion of Carenado, it's a whole lot lower for Nemeth.

Why are so many of these outfits who bloomed 'til FS9 having such a problem producing something "new"?

Because: a) they are lazy, b ) they can get away with it and c ) they aren't interested in making things better and improving upon themselves; just in making the bucks. Sounds like another developer I love to dump on. It's sad, but as long as the hoards are buying their product (and we don't have a huge amount of choice out there so if we want to keep simming... )then there is no incentive to improve on past work; except of course, their own self pride. Lacking that, and we get Nemeth and "that other company".
I didn't know Nemeth was resorting to FS2000 stuff though. That's really bad. My last purchase was the 109 as well, and that one went back. I should have sent back the EC 120. I posted a screenshot of the altimeter in that aircraft. It was so badly misaligned that you couldn't tell what altitude you were at. Pathetic and it shows a complete lack of any sort of testing, or even looking at their own product before sending it out. I complained about it. Too bad for me.

Hate to admit that I have three from their line on my ramp, all with aftermarket FDE's - all at half-price but it was still real money.

You aren't the only one my friend. Hell, I have an entire fleet of crap. At least I'm learning from my mistakes though. I know now that when I buy a crappy model I don't EVER buy another one until the next one that comes out. I'm not as dumb as I look ya know (don't go there ).

The really nice thing about buying crap at half price is you only waste half the money - logic to live by .
