Somewhere up there in the cloud filled heavens there is an immaculate Cub or Pacer gliding along. At the controls is my friend Gord Farrow.
I have known Gord and counted him as a friend for many years. Gord was only 80 last month and he was still flying as he always did, eagerly , happily and always with an impish little grin. He was one of those pilots that just wanted to fly, fly anything that was canvas covered and smelled of dope and AV gas. He could fix anything that had wings--yes he had his A&E ticket and it was rare when you visited him that he didn't have a pot out of a Cub or Pacer---he had three of those. There are many pilots around my area of the country that owe Gord, for favours received by them and their planes free of any charge.
He was one of too few airmen that are left that just love to fly. Gord left the surly bonds of earth on Friday while working in his shop, an aneurism got him. His wife found him, but it was too late.
Now, there is another hole in my life and also in the aviation fraternity.
FAIR WEATHER GORD !!!!!!
I just thought you guys would like to know about my late friend. He was an Airman !!!!
