Man, it was painful trying to repaint this thing! With a few mods and whatnot, I have it flying pretty good now. Near Eastport, ME

Full marks for that paint job! You are right, it is a bear to paint.

I've been tempted to put the old 206 dynamics into the new 206H, the old one seemed to fly better. Didn't have that nose up attitude that the H exhibits either. Did you do some dynamics tweaking?

Thanks Fritz. I mainly just did a colour change, but getting the selections down was a bitch in itself. I don't think I'd attempt doing a paint from scratch, which admittedly is making me think hard before buying any new airplane without a proper paint kit anymore.
Yep. That's exactly what I did. Swapped out the new cfg for the old, added some stability to make it feel "big and heavy" (which the 206 sure is, based on a reasonable amount of RW experience with them), but left the engine dynamics as it was for the new version. I also swapped the air file complete. The only drawback is (so far) is the C of G diagram in the Payload screen is totally out of whack, but if you have any RW aircraft time, you'll know if you are out of C of G by how you're loading the machine anyway.

Looks like a fine paint job! I agree with you about paint kits; too much time/trouble is wasted trying to figure out what goes where without one.

Glenn, that's a real nice paint! I wouldn't mind a few more details on your flight dynamics mods, I'd be interested in trying them out. I also liked the old dynamics better -Scott

Thanks Scott. All I did was change the colours. The design is one of the defaults. No way will I attempt a full redesigned paint job on that airplane . I'll get you the info you are looking for tonight when I get home. I think you'll find the aircraft handles better in general in that it feels a lot heavier and more stable, which is more typical of the 206. You may find it "ponderous" compared to how it is now so be prepared for that, but the aircraft out of the box feels a closer to a Super Cub than a heavy single. This corrects that. It's more realistic, but if you prefer the lighter controls, then I'll explain how to retain that. Back tonight when I get home.

OK, here are my entry changes from the aircraft.cfg for the 206. These are just the sections I've made changes in. Otherwise everything is the default:
[flight_tuning] cruise_lift_scalar=1.0 parasite_drag_scalar=1.0 induced_drag_scalar=1.0 elevator_effectiveness=1.3 aileron_effectiveness=1.0 rudder_effectiveness=1.8 pitch_stability=1.0 roll_stability=1.0 yaw_stability=1.0 elevator_trim_effectiveness=1.5 aileron_trim_effectiveness=1.0 rudder_trim_effectiveness=1.0 hi_alpha_on_roll=-0.32 hi_alpha_on_yaw=0.1615 p_factor_on_yaw= 1.0 torque_on_roll=1.5 gyro_precession_on_yaw=1.0 gyro_precession_on_pitch=1.0
[Flaps.0] type=1 span-outboard=0.500000 extending-time=9.000000 system_type=0 flaps-position.0=0.000000 flaps-position.1=10,0.000000 flaps-position.2=20,0.000000 flaps-position.3=40,0.000000 lift_scalar=1 drag_scalar=0.9 pitch_scalar=1.0
That's it. For the air file, just copy your old 206 air file and paste into the new version and alias that in your aircraft section.
Hope it helps.

Yes, but you also need to own the old 206 for this to fully work, That's where the air file comes from.
