For those interested in the WIP freeware Grumman Mallard (Firekitten and Co.), here's how the VC is progressing.

Thanks  Dave.    I, for one am interested in getting that Mallard. How do I get in the line for it ?   I hope it will be for FSX too.

It'll be native FSX and the developers seem to favor SOH so that'll be where it shows first.  Seems like it has a ways to go, not into beta yet but keep checking.

Hmm... That's a new ship to me. Interesting in that the Wiki page cites the following:

A prominent user in the United States was Roy Fruehauf and the Fruehauf Trailer Corporation. Fruehauf owned and operated a fishing camp, Killarney Lodge in Georgian Bay, Canada and ferried customers there from Detroit. Another, Detroit'er, William Packer of General Motors also owned a Mallard which he flew to Killarney often."

Makes me want to dig out a floatplane and find Georgian Bay. Sounds like it must be a pretty spot.

Well that was easy ... Killarney is north-north-west of Toronto. And Georgian Bay is the large body of water just east of Lake Huron. Closer to me than I had originally thought. That ought to be covered by the Alaska/Canada LC for Global... hmmm... I have a destination to discover.

Looking forward to supporting the Mallard developers so I can recreate those schmooze flights given by Fruehauf. I've pulled his trailers many times, so this is my way of saying thanks for a good product.

Georgian Bay is a marvelous area!  And the Mallard is going to be a most welcome addition!
