Question for Carm, i read in an old post that you may have flew in cessna 140 cf-dxd in 1956 ? Could you confirm that please , my fathers family owned that plane in the 1950's in Laporte Saskatchewan and all the boys flew it around like the family car. I wish he was still around to tell me the stories but he sure loved flying that plane when he was 19 and 20. Thanks

Good Mornin !! Yep. DXD was the Cessna I first flew. I have my log book here beside me and the first entry is dated Mar 24, 1956. On April 8 of the same year I soloed from it with a grand total of 8hrs and 15 minutes in my log. The solo time was :20 min. The last entry on DXD is July 29/56 one hour. No DXD entries after that. My check ride was in DXD's sister Cessna DXB--a 120. Both of the A/C were flown out of CFB Cold Lake Alta. We had a flying club there, on the base. I was one airman in a group of five that drank, caroused and loved to fly. Some of that group, are still alive, one near Calgary, one in Whitehorse, and myself. The other two are gone to the great Hanger up above. You have triggered some great memories. Space, Air Regs and forum rules won't allow putting them down here. Nice to have you here with us---- don't be a stranger. Cheers, Carm.

Good Morning, thats great, thank you! I have his log book now and his last entry with the DXD was Mar 15, 1955 so it must have been sold shortly after that. I have two pictures of the plane with my Uncle doing some service work i would like to share. Again, thanks for the info. Attachments:
