Well I had reason to ask for support from Carenado two day ago. I'm in the middle of a complete re-install of FSX et al and discovered that I could not find my C-185 Bush anywhere. OK, sez I, I'll just re-download that sucker. When I tried to access "My Account" at Carenado it would not recognize my password. (Seems they have changed things since 2011 when I bought the C-185!) I did the old 'forgot my password routine, got a new one and still couldn't access the site. Sent an e-mail with a copy of the purchase e-mail from Carenado (yep I save em') and they came back this morning with a new pass word and I popped right into the download page and downloaded the A/C. Now I'll have to see if it works and re-do all the flight files the Bernt provided for the bird. Oh yeah there was also a Patch1 for the bird available as well. Sure don't know how I managed to not save my original download but the folks at Carenado did come through with flying colors I must say.

Glad to hear a good story regarding Carenado. Their ships may list a bit, but they generally float.

Carenado planes are always so visually appealing but - fly one, you've flown 'em all. While other developers struggle for perfection and rarely produce, Carenado keeps 'em coming never allowing perfection to become a problem.

That's why I have the "ultimate_185.zip" from here to 'fix' the C185 flt file.

I'll be jiggered if I can find that Ultimate 185 File. Where is it hidden Carm. PS. I've been boring holes in the sky mostly in Northern Ont lately. Well!! Yesterday I thought I'd take a little flip around Tofino etc. I am infested with trees 0n the runways etc. Seems it is NRM scenery from Calgary Tofino and about half way to Prince George, that's affected. Northern BC and Alaska is okay. Something has gone screwy in my Library, me thinks.
Hmmmm ! Any thoughts men ?

Hmmmm, good question! Any advice on getting to the old download section of the site? Its just a 42KB zip file with internal zip files for all 5 versions of the Carenado C185 by Bernt Stolle. I know I downloaded it from the previous version of Bushpounder's site.

Actually, truth be told, I have them. That's because they were my mods that Bernt instituted for me (which he did very well, I might add) . I know the airplane, he knows the air files, so we collaborated on them. I'll post them tonight if I can stay upright long enough this evening . PS - I have since modified a couple of items Carm. Let me know if you want the version that was on the Carenado site or the ones I'm currently using.

I'm assuming then that the "patch" for the C185 on Carenado's site it the air files you speak of.? can't really tell as the patch is an autoinstall that doesn't allow installing to another location. Any way to provide the files here on the site any longer?

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what they have there now. The patch that Bernt and I did was considered "optional" by Carenado so whether they incorporated it into something else, I don't know. I'll ask Don about if he can host the files here or not. I may still have a copy of the 185 Guide as well, which I wrote to go along with the mods. If I do, and if he can host them, I'll stick both up.

At "Carenado.com" - updates - the fourth C185FSX is called 'optional patch' - that's the one.

Would be better if you started a separate thread for your tree problem Carm. Get's overlooked in this thread. Anyway, no, I'd fix this problem first. It's a layering issue you have. Make sure FTX Central V2 is showing on top of your scenery pile, including Tongass.

That "optional" patch was, I think, the first attempt to repair the FDE's of the original release. The "Ultimate 185" was done a bit later and was never offered anywhere but here, I believe. (On a very old site, admittedly) Glenn was involved with the 185 from the start, so he would know much more. I do have a copy of that file, mind, so if you need it, send me a PM.

I've dropped Don a PM to see if he can host files. I have an alternative if not, but we'll try that route first.
