The word seems to be that on 9/30 Lockheed Martin plans to release version 3 of Prepar3d. From the initial notes, it looks like a lot of bud fixes, a couple of new features and some performance upgrades. Also noted a new attention to licensing definitions.

It appears, from what I've read elsewhere, this version will be a whole new purchase - bit of a stumbling block for some.

I'm still waiting for the 64 bit version.

Wow, you've got to buy it yet again? They may find people just hold off until the "final" version is out (i.e. 64 bit). I think that's what I would be doing myself. I am interested in it, but only from afar at this point.

Not only do you get to purchase it -at full price, for whichever version you're interested in- but you get to wait for all the add-on developers to release updated versions of their software to match the new P3Dv3.
I'm still waiting on Orbx to release V2.5 updates for some items. So if I want all the performance and utility updates of v3, I get to wait for all my scenery to be re-released. Yeah, I'm not really on board with all that.
Disappointing to me since I just bought Global and Vector, only to find the platform is obsolescent (if not yet obsolete.) I guess this is where I draw the line, and fly what I have until the 64-bit version makes it's appearance. I was really betting that v3 would be the 64-bit version. Another bad bet on my part.

Hold this thought - this is the United States of America and the idea is to make money.

There's also a tried and true caveat: Let The Buyer Beware.
I've jumped the fence because the grass was greener on the other side once already. I'm not going for a second jump any time soon. The fertilizer on this side of the fence is still a bit fresh.
