This horse has been flogged many times. Out of interest, I read the Orbx guideline for stacking scenery - all addon scenery you wished to see in an Orbx scenery should be stacked, as a group, above Orbx airports and fat sceneries. Made sense to me so I did it and it checked out fine . Imagine my chagrin when, the next time I opened FSX, they were back underneath the Orbx stuff. Tried different groups in FTX Central but no joy so I'm back to stacking the addons immediately above the appropriate fat scenery - worked just fine. Another thing I noticed - using FTX Global in hybrid mode with your fat sceneries takes a lot longer to load than simply using the appropriate fat group (NA, EU, OC) - flying in the fat you don't use any of that other stuff.

See, the stuff moves around. That is what was happening to me.

My first suspect would be this new FTX Central - too much "help". Guess we're stuck 'til Orbx decides there may be a problem.

That was what really started the whole mess. I figured it out - the Miami scenery had problems, but it was NOT the cause for all of my troubles. It seems like the last update is what started to create the problems.

Hmmm, mine don't. Are you sure you have the "insertion point" configured correctly?

Very important to remember that you can only move "FTX" with the insertion tool. If you try to move any other scenery at the same time, it will look like everything is moved but when you restart FTX Central 2, everything will be back where it was. Only move "FTX" and nothing else with that tool and it **should** work (famous last words ).

Your problem is you need to set an insertion point using FTX Central v2. Click Settings at the bottom. Click Tools and finally Library Insertion Points. Drag the orange 'FTX' to the place in the listed scenery library you want to have the ORBX/FTX files reside. If you have Tongass Fjords X installed I recommend just above the High Priority entry for Tongass Fjords X. If you have no insertion point set every time you change regions using FTX Central the FTX/ORBX entries will move to the top of the FSX Scenery Library as you have already experienced.

"Scroll down to the bottom" - how much I've missed by overlooking that. The 'insertion point' is key - muchas gracias.

New to Global and Vector, just got both installed and working. I must say they've made a huge difference in my local area flying (home is KMKT, which is in the Global Freeware collection and nicely done.) The local area looks so much better now than it did before installing Global and especially Vector. The Minnesota River runs through town, previously it looked like little more than a minor stream. Now it looks as it should, a major river with significant amounts of water running through. Plus lots of season-appropriate foliage. The autogen stuff fills in the town convincingly, if not at all accurately. But major roads, rivers, lakes, etc. are all as they should be. An older screenshot from before Global... And a screenshot from today showing the town, river, roads, etc. in much more acceptable condition. Setting up ... Via FTX Central 2 I only enable "Hybrid Mode" if I'm go to be flying into or out of an FTX 'fat' region. If my intended flying will be all within a 'fat' region, then no Hybrid Mode needed, simply enable whichever 'fat' group covers the areas in which I'm flying. If all my flying will be outside 'fat' areas, enable Global but not Hybrid mode. Insertion points... I don't have a lot of sceneries other than FTX and a few freeware airports. So I let FTX set itself wherever it wanted... right at the top, with the Vector Landclass basics immediately under. Then my Tongass Fjords entries and all the other stuff. Bear in mind I'm on P3D2.5, not FSX. P3D is slowly but inexorably distancing itself from the original FSX.

My problem was that some of my addons, in order to be seen, needed to be above the FTX stuff so I was moving them manually. This got to be a chore 'til I finally 'got the flick' about the 'insertion point'.

My problem was that some of my addons, in order to be seen, needed to be above the FTX stuff so I was moving them manually. This got to be a chore 'til I finally 'got the flick' about the 'insertion point'. Yep. I've got all manner of things that need to be above the Orbx stuff. That part I figured out with the "insertion point" business. The thing that I don't understand is that every time I update the Orbx library it insists on inserting itself back to the default position, just above the Orbx entries, when I want it to be in the #1 position, (For reasons that I won't go into here. ) It seems that you can't divorce the libraries from the rest. So I do still have to manually move the libraries every time I update my Orbx stuff.

Right . I think you may not have installed the the library update of August 15. This update includes the latest FTX Central v2. See here: www.fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs Scroll down almost to the bottom of the page and look for: Orbx Libraries Version 150815 15th August 2015 That may sort it but if not, Spud will know more, I'm sure.

My impression was that the 'Orbx Libraries' were supposed to at the top of the FTX stuff so that what was in them could be seen.
