As I mentioned in another thread somewhere, I am missing all of the FTX "scenery", "CVX", "mesh" and "custom" entries for the Orbx full regions. I posted a query at Orbx but it's been two days now and there has been only one response and that led nowhere. I'm thinking that I could add those entries manually and Bob would be my uncle. (No, no, not that Bob, heaven forbid! ) But I wonder if that might not be the first step on a very disastrous path. Anyone see any potential problems with this?

Since y'all be silent, I'm just going to go ahead and add those entries and see what falls down. If you never hear from me again, it didn't go as planned.

Wish I could help Fritz, I haven't run into that problem yet. Just a matter of time no doubt since everyone in the FS world seems to be having problems right now. All I can advise is to back up your dll.xml, fsx.cfg and scenery.cfg files early and often.
Uncle What About Bob? I'm saaaiiiling!!

Be really careful Fritz. Yeah, it should work, but then so should the Orbx installer; and it obviously isn't. I'm just thinking of what Don said when he was adding stuff in manually, and suddenly everything went POOF. This has got to be a really major mess, and I have to believe we aren't the only ones having problems. Anyway, if you've already done it, let us know how it went (then update us tomorrow and let us know if it's STILL working ).

Had this happen with FTX Norway but before the new FTX Central. Pasted the four sections (05 thru 08) from 'ORBX' to "Addon Scenery' (both in the FSX main folder) then 'added' them to 'Scenery Libray' - worked fine.

That's good news. I figured to add them to the scenery library directly from the "FSX> Orbx" folder. You reckon it's necessary to copy them to the "Addon Scenery" folder first?

I see. Well, it's as good a plan as any. Here goes.

...and tomorrow night, and the night after that, and the night after that, and.... . Seriously, I hope you get this sorted out soon. From the way things sound though, I almost get the feeling that there are 2 kinds of simmers here - those who have the problem, and those who are soon going to. Not a happy thought .

Adding FTX regional files manually to the library is certainly NOT correct. The installers will do the job every time unless there is something else wrong with your installation. It was suggested in the ORBX post that your terrain.cfg 'could' have a problem. Have you checked that out? The link to Holger's post explains how to replace the terrain.cfg so you may want to try that.

A bit off topic, but, when I downloaded LC AkCa, it took about three times longer to install than to download. The wrapper appears to be the problem.

Don has display problems, I have library trouble. Don has the correct library entries but the display is wonky. That may be due to a corrupt "terrain.cfg' file, but I couldn't say. My problem is that I have no library entries for the full FTX regions, e,g, "Scenery", "CVX", "Mesh" and "Custom" but everything appears to be displaying correctly. Quite obviously the installer did not do the job this time. And I still haven't heard from anyone from the Orbx staff.

I was able to get my Vector and FS Global issues sorted out my manually adding them to the library. Certainly not standard, but it did work. YMMV I might just blow my machine out and start fresh with FSX Steam edition in the near future, I've been wanting to give it a try -Scott
