Let me suggest this - I always buy the DVD with the download. This way I will always have it to do with as I please. It cost me an extra 11 bucks or so for all 6 DVDs, but I have reinstalled them for the THIRD time. I don't trust downloads that are that big.

It may come to that. I hope not but we'll see. I'm going to give it one more go this afternoon and then if that doesn't work I'll re-download the whole shebang again and start over. If that doesn't work I'm going to take up basket weaving!

I can recommend a good instructor for the basket weaving if it comes to that Fritz .

Well, huzzah! I ran the installer again and everything went swimmingly. No problems and appears to be installed in the correct place, below Vector, right? Please tell that's right! Don't know what it looks like yet because I'm going to run my defrag program first. Now to find out what's up with my scenery library entries. I posted over at Orbx and we shall see what they say.

Fritz, according to the Definitive Guide table the 2010 MESH should be just ABOVE the first four VECTOR entries in your Library. However that shouldn't make any difference with MESH files as the sim will find and use the most detailed MESH on your HD for the area your flying. (IE: ORBX full fat region MESH usually more detailed than 3rd party MESH and is what is used in those regions.)

Well, see, that doesn't make sense to me. The mesh is what the roads and rivers and whatnot are built on, right? So I do not understand what's going on. If Orbx's installer puts things in the wrong place, how in the world are we to understand what's what? This whole Vector, Global, openLC thing is becoming very annoying. Enough for today, me thinks. I think I'll just go and have a beer and watch the sunset.

"Automatic Updates" seem to be the 'kiss of, if not death, at least serious injury' with all things involving a computer. Avoid them if you can.

The library auto update 'feature' of Central v2 normally works fine but this last one was just atrocious for me saying it would take 33 days to finish and it just seemed to run and run etc. I stopped it and did my usual go to support and D/L the whole library zip file and did a manual install. Central is supposed to update 'only' those library files that are out of date or have been changed in the new version but I always keep a copy of the most recent Library Installer on my HD and that way I can 'do it myself'! I have noticed that there is now only one library zip file not two depending on what sim version you use.
