Yeah, big time problem if you like flying in the Yukon. I've posted on Orbx's forum so I hope they get this identified and fixed ASAP. This is out of Burwash (CYDB), Yukon: Skyvector showing area of concern This is facing SE looking over the airport (which has changed dramatically and not for the better - there are a LOT of trees in this area - this shows hardly any). Never mind that though. Where the hell is Kluane Lake??? It's a 30+ mile long lake that should be right in front of you as you look at this shot. An overhead view. The entire lake (plus?) is missing If you start venturing out over where the lake should be, this is what you start seeing. Almost city-scapes appearing through the texture mat. Move a couple more feet though, and suddenly you get this. Couple more feet and this is what I get. Before I go jumping off any bandwagons though, can someone else check out the area and see if they are getting the same thing? At this point I'm not sure I'm better off with OpenLC NA for numerous reasons (not just that there's a glitch here). Thanks.

Starting to be a number of similar problems showing up on Orbx's forum now. Moral of the story? Wait for the first patch . I'm missing water all over the NW now, including Burwash, Watson Lake, Dease Lake, Atlin, etc. Anyone who doesn't have it installed yet, my advice would be to wait.

I planned on waiting. I've learned NOT to jump an any new release. I've gone without for this long. I had to do a reinstall of FSX and all the other goodies the other night. Not sure which one of my new sceneries screwed up everything, but none of them went back in. Really pissed. That was $$$ pissed away. Also pissed away $$$ on Traffic 360. What a HUGE piece of crap. I went back to Ultimate Traffic 2. MUCH better. BP;)

Gads, a lot of us are having all kinds of problems with OpenLC and FTX Central 2. This is starting to turn into Pandora's Box I'm afraid, with multiple issues. The LC tile bleeding and missing water is probably due to bad layer ordering. But when you try to reset/adjust your insertion point in FTX Central 2, it doesn't stick. As such, I can't determine if that's the problem or not. These guys need to straighten some of this stuff out, and fast. Me thinks we are getting beyond what FSX can handle now (or certainly what I can handle, sadly).

This'll verify the problem at Kluane Lake - looks like only one water tile. This is the northwest end looking towards Haines Junction. Maybe we're supposed to stick to only those areas flown by the beta testers?

The following is what I'm seeing flying out of Burwash: It looks okay on my end. Is Burwash located inside of SAK? Would Open LC affect a fat region area like that? I have Global, Vector, and the Pilot's Mesh. The installer did screw up my insertion points. It put all my ORBX stuff back at the top, above all my custom scenery like Return to Misty Moorings and such. -Scott

If you are having trouble with your scenery library and insertion points, I highly recommend using the Scenery Config Editor located HERE. It lets you edit your scenery.cfg outside FSX. You can highlight and move whole blocks of scenery around, enable and disable multiple scenery entries, or create groups of scenery. You can also add scenery by directories. I was able to add all the Return to Misty Moorings scenery in one pass. It's very powerful and useful, I wouldn't mess with adding scenery without it these days. -Scott

After reading Scott's post, checked my settings. All the LC stuff was inserted above Orbx so changed all that back and so is Kluane Lake.

Just like openLC Europe, the installer for openLC NA puts the entries in the wrong place. They need to go below the FTX stuff. Very boring. Scott's right, though; if you use the Scenery Config Editor it's quite easy and you can save the configuration in case things go pear-shaped for any reason. Very handy little tool. I find FTX Central's insertion point utility confusing and unreliable.

OK, all good now here as well (thanks for the supporting post at Orbx Dave). Once I moved FTX only in the Insertion Point Tool, it "stuck" and I got my water back. All looks as it should now. However, I think I'll take Scott and Fritz's advice and get that insertion tool that Scott mentioned. Sounds like a much better tool overall.
Thanks for the links there Dieter. That did help.
