I am totally lost. I used to do this all the damned time so easily, and now it doesn't work. Just east of the Departure end of 10R at KFLL there are three electrical towers for power lines. I tried making an exclude from Instant Scenery and it doesn't work. I then went to ADE X and did one there. It too did not work. These are things I have done for years, but now they are not working. I do not know what the hell else I need to do or if I am missing something, but I am getting pissed! I found a great update for KFLL, but it puts the towers in the middle of the new runway. I am baffled. Any ideas other than taking up yet another hobby? Thanks!

I haven't made an exclusion box in Instant Scenery for sometime but I remember that there was a certain procedure that you had to do or else it wouldn't take. Something about clicking a box for autogen or whatever, I forget. I shall have a look. Is the KFLL you are using a default airport?

Yes, but this scenery is off of the airport. I just bring the airport up because it gets me close to where I need to modify. I even RTFM, and no joy.  BP;) |

BP;) Don't know Don but, as I remember you could only exclude on scenery that was initially was created by EZscenery, Could be wrong but that's how I remember it. Also I went to KFLL [Lauderdale] and no 10R, only 9R and be darned if i could find any Powerlines. I'm using default--- that could be the reason.

BP;) You have to create a new scenery that includes the exclusion box. In Instant Scenery you need to go to the location where you want to edit. Then you create a new file and name it; "KFLL towers exclude", or something. Add your exclusion box, save it to "FSX>Addon scenery" then install it in the FSX Scenery Library. There is a box you have to tick so that the exclusion box will include autogen. See page 24 of the manual. |

yep! my instant scenery manual speaks likewise. You got a cantankous computer!! Don. Well mine has let itself get infected with something called ' Task Host' which stops the computer from closing down until it says so. It loads down the processor and slows the computer..
I've spent most of the day so far trying to clear it---no luck. Sounds like a trip to the Hospital is in the works. Damn computers will keep me in the poor house. Oh what the hell its only money.

I am wondering if you can try to delete a sample powerline tower for me. I can add a building at the spot. I can move that building and delete that building. I know IS is working. To get rid of the towers, I have to turn the slider for scenery WAY down. Can someone try to delete a tower out in the middle of nowhere to see if it is working? This is really strange!

BP;) Well, well, I can't get it to work, either. As you say, I can add things, move them and delete them but I can't exclude the towers. I can exclude other things, including autogen but not the power line towers. Something has gone pear-shaped, sure. I'll try over at the support but I probably won't get to it until tomorrow; folks are coming over for a bit of a bash, so must start preparing. |

I'm trying it now, but with hangars. Make sure your exclude polygons that you make are ABOVE the scenery layer of the polygons (powerlines) you are excluding, in a separate file.

From what I am finding. Powerlines are classes as Utilities. There is no exclusion for them in the menu.
