I like it ! I like it !! Just did a circuit in my new Comanch, at my home base, I sure was rough around the edges, but we got her down without bending anything. I can see me doing some X countries with this bird. PS. I once knew a 'well to do' lady who owned a six cylinder Comanch, when she shut down after a flight she had to wait not 20 minutes, but a good half hour before she could restart. Carm.

Well, I think I'm going to pass on the Comanche. For €10 more I can get the Pilot's mesh for the whole world, what with the old guys discount at the FlightSimStore, so I think I'll do that instead.

Sounds good Fritz. That's a good package that will serve you no matter where you go. Makes a lot of sense. Let me know how you like it.

Fritz, When I purchased the Pilots FTX Compatable Mesh from the FSS I did not get the Old Farts Discount. I assume that because it is not an FTX product they don't offer the discount for the software.

Mornin men !! I can see your logic Fritz . If I had the OF's discount I'd be thinking the same as you. I can't seem to get the OF's discount----guess they think I'm not that old Anyway. I have the Comanche and love it, its up to A2A's usual high standard, I think. I had a time with the electronics, especially the A/P but I finally got my old head around it and were boring holes in the sky over Southern Ontario. We're off to North Bay today to visit an old Gal friend, hope the rain holds off-- doesn't look good though. Cheers , Carm

carm, If you meet the age requirments for the OFD and are reluctant to jump through the various hoops it requires to furnish proof, there is a simpler way. I had purchased ORBX freeware previously so they had that on their records that I was an authorized customer. I made a copy of my driver's license with unecessary info blacked out but date of birth showing and e-mailed it to them. That was acceptable proof of age and valid customer to obtain the OFD.

Speaking of the new Comanche - t'would be great if A2A offered a choice of with or without 'Accusim'. Not only does it dramatically increase the price, for a lot of simmers (myself) it's absolute bullshit.

"for a lot of simmers (myself) it's absolute bullshit." I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I couldn't disagree more. To each their own though .

Accu-sim is of zero interest to me and I refuse to pay for something I will never use.

Are you guys under the mistaken impression that Accu-sim is only the "maintenance hangar"? Sounds like it. In fact, it's the individual characteristics of each aircraft, and controls the behaviour of each machine. For example, if you close the cowl flaps, the CHT goes up at a specified rate. If you pull the power back and descend, the CHT decreases at a specified rate commensurate with that aircraft for the speed, location of the cowl flaps, environment, etc. My full list is at home, but believe me, it is a LOT more than just the "hangar". These aircraft handle (as a result) far, far more like the real thing than anything else on the market today due to Accu-sim. These are definitely not "cookie-cutter" machines that have a couple of tweaks made to the previous aircraft's FDE and given a different name. Anyway, like I said, to each their own, but it might be worth watching their videos (the ones they did) on their homepage to see what all it does. If you're mind is made up regardless though, then I guess there would be little point, but they are interesting and informative.

Don't get me wrong, I own and admire several A2A models - B17, Spitfire and the WW1 Albatross but none with Accusim. This is a marketing and gimmickry package for the 'immersion' folks and seems to be a real success. It's just not for me and several others.
