Thanks Spud. Jeez, it's beginning to look like Orbx is in competition with Microsoft to see who can issue the most updates in a month. At least Orbx's updates do something positive.

Why, Glenn, how can you say such a thing?

It's easy. I put my fingers on top of the keys on the keyboard and push selective ones down in the right order and... oh, I see what you are saying now... Actually, I am getting very, very close to deep sixing my PC's for a Mac. The last 3 MS updates have each caused me grief of one form or another. Tired of that routine.

I know what you mean by MS, Glenn. I am down to only three PC's now; one has Windows 7 x64 SP1 (my main flight sim rig), one has Windows XP SP3 (back up rig only) and a laptop with dual boot Linux and Windows XP SP3 (my internet rig). The only thing that makes the two MS only rigs tolerable is that because they are not hooked up to the internet they only have the main SP updates only. Consequently my MS OS's continue to function with no surprises (or updates).

Almost all my friends use Mac these days and are forever asking me when I'm going to change and it's true that Microsoft has become rather, uh, confused, shall we say, of late, but Apple is in no way without its own foibles. I probably would get a Mac if I had the money to own two systems. Like I said, I know a lot of people that use Macs and I do have an iPad myself but there are too many things that I use a lot that don't run on Mac's. Anyway, I'd have to keep a Windows machine for FSX no matter what.

Oh yeah, Mac's aren't infallible for sure. I would keep one Windows LT for those programs, but honestly, without FS, I only run about 1 or 2 other programs that aren't Mac ready. Those I can do on my LT (not FS though). My main programs though are Adobe CS6, and they are just as happy on the Mac as on Windows. I tried a Mac out a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The display really blows me away (this was an iMac so it has the wide gamut display, which I really need) even compared with my wide gamut LaCie 526. The reality is, if I don't make the switch this year, I won't have the $$$ to do it later, so I'm really seriously pondering it. If I gave up FS (and believe me, I've been very, very close to doing that several times this year), then I wouldn't even think twice about it. Windows is made for tweaking, but if all you want to do is work with the applications, then Mac is the way to go if you aren't running any Windows only software. My opinion - YMMV

New library - new scenery. Must be LandClass EU. If so, that would be interesting. But why do ya think that? It could just be about an airport. Orbx has been releasing a lot of airports of late.

When a new release is imminent, be it airport or scenery, Iain Emms starts posting screenshots usually about three times then voila. This particular time he's been joined by Frank Schnibben who exhibits from the more easterly section of the scenery. Or maybe not . The cherry on top is Mr V said "June" and "It's bustin' out all over".

New library - new scenery. Must be LandClass EU. Sorry but nothing to do with LC fellas. Just read the thread I linked to for what is new in this library. Or here is a cut n' paste of the text. "The only changes are:
New FTX Central version. Fixes the following: Airport elevation adjustment files weren't getting deactivated (= renamed to .OFF) for users who didn't have FTX Global installed and selected "Default FSX". Vector Lights checkbox for the North America setting being inoperable New unified ObjectFlow DLL. We are now using one DLL file that will be installed in Orbxlibs. Its from this one DLL file that all our ObjectFlow will work. As we update our airports to triple installers, we will take advantage of this change* Fixed shadows not displaying on some StaticFlow in P3Dv2
Cheers"

I've often wondered that myself.
