The more gallons the better! I didn't see any date stamp on that, or I missed it. Would you happen to know when that was posted? When I lived in Colorado in 1974, we had a huge fire close to Boulder but about 15 miles up one of the canyons and converted B-29 bombers were sent from Denver to help out. They colored the retardant orange back then. (Took us three days to put the fire out)

Forest fires are an annual summer event in interior Alaska. Back in the sixties, BLM had their fire headquarters at McGrath with a cadre of smoke jumpers and a fleet of WW2 vintage fire bombers - B17's, PB4Y2's and B25's. Very pleasant hearing all those big round engines starting up.

You think the '47 is ugly? Looks a bit ungainly, perhaps, with all those wheels hanging about when they take off and land but storks look much the same. |

Hmmn, I think today I actually prefer the looks of the MD-11 better than the 747. DC10 is pretty close (probably couldn't tell them apart). Thinking I should reload the MD-11. It would fit my cargo ops perfectly. Lesseee, C337, 404, Navajo and MD-11 . Love it! (wonder if I can get the MD into Kitchener...  ). |

Of course, I could just wait for PMDG to do V2 of the 747. I'm sure it will be out before Windows 30 is released . |
