Just picked up the Squamish scenery, so had to take a short tour in a Staggerwing... Start-up, parking position 1... Nice details in the city and surrounding areas... Beautiful area... Coming around to check out the airport from above...

I'd like to talk myself out of buying yet more stuff, but Squamish looks right nice, so it does.

The control panel with Squamish contains a LOT of options... In P3D you can set up a submersible, and Squamish has additional scenery items that can be selected for using the watercraft (and seriously warned against using those options if attempting to fly.) Offers a lot of additional hi-def water's edge foliage and stuff like that. Or if you use Orbx 'Bob' to walk around a given scenery, you can enable the local college's buildings (with people-flow and nature-flow) and peruse the campus. I haven't used either of those in the past, but I'm tempted to here, just to explore the area. I'm told by a friend who lives there (he supplied a lot of photos and points of interest to the developer) that his own home will be done and privately released as an additional .bgl file. His home has been used as a set for several motion pictures, including one made recently starring the kid who played Harry Potter (forget his name... Daniel something.) Great looking shots!
I wish I could get this scenery; but I see that people with much better hardware than mine are struggling with getting anything more than a slideshow with Squamish.

Well, I got Squamish the other day and by and large I like it. Here is a shot of my Waco flight from this morning's Father's Day breakfast flight. , Now here's the other side of the coin. Eversince ----whether coincidence or not I get this notice on many A/ports on the lower BC mainland, there are several different versions of the notice, but the basic message is the same----cannot locate scenery items. Now, If I just click 'okay' and continue after several clicks I get into the A/P and away we go. I have had this snag before and with fiddlinf in the Library and various CFG's I cured the prob. But Not this time. Has anyone got any ideas how to cure this snag ? Thanks. Carm.

It looks like you may be missing an FTX scenery library or an update to an FTX library. Or you could see if you have the "FTXAA_Orbx" library placed at the top of the list. Sometimes when you install new sceneries the scenery library gets scrambled.

However, which orbyx scenery covers the lower BC mainland. I can't find that view which shows which scenery area covers what. I just may not have the latest update installed . Cheers, carm.

butting in a bit late on this but just wanted to remind folks that for some odd reason ORBX PNW has to have patch 005 installed BEFORE patch 008 which apparently does NOT include 005??.

Well Spud I checked and 005 was installed. I reinstalled ---anyway and then re did 008.----- the results are not much different. I have the biggest prob with Squamish. Once I get past the 'okay's' the scenery is really great. I might just live with this Cheers, Carm.

Carm, I thought you probably were OK with patch 005 but wanted to be sure. Now the error message is telling you that it can not find a particular object anywhere in your installation. Just for giggles be sure you have the library 140518 for FSX and just re-install it over the old library. This will ensure you have all the latest objects ORBX requires. You say that you get the error from several airports and multiple times all the time. This is indicative of something major missing in your installation. You do have FTXNA PNW region installed correct?
