Not Johnny Horton's "forty below" - further north for that. On my way to that $100 hamburger - turning towards Kenai Lake. Quartz Creek and lunch Those barn door flaps are not kidding - nothing but downhill with some power to break the fall.

Maybe not forty below but still very rugged country and a bit of an adventure for such a small plane. Were the hamburgers free that day? Nice shots.

Received a paid trip up there in the fifties - courtesy of the USAF. Ended up spending a little over forty years - most of it owning a plane. No such thing as a free lunch, especially a hamburger .
