Wonder how much of the REX4 tree files would be replaced by this stuff, and if it is any better than what REX4 provides...

Doesn't appear that REX4 has much to do with trees and vegetation. Hmm, this might be interesting.

Word has it these actually increase performance. I'll be interested to see if that is true, but it sounds (and looks) good.

FWIW I have read FPS increased and FPS decreased threads in various forum this morning. One particularly noted that FPS decreased more with P3D than with FSX. I'll sit back and wait for things to shakeout for awhile I believe. I have no bitches about my trees right now anyway.
Alex at ORBX has posted the following:
"It is a tree replacement, no new trees are added existing textures are just replaced. Unless you are looking at custom autogen that Trees HD was not intended to modify all tree textures should be replaced. That includes all trees in default, Global, and regions."
