Hi, all! Is anyone running non-default clouds in their systems? I am wondering what brand they may be, what type and name they go by, and if it helped the frames/stability of the screen. Thanks for any input!
BP;)

Been using REX, current 'texture direct' since I started with FS9. With everything at max it does put a hit on a middly machine and I'm waiting for their WIP weather engine. The visuals do make it all worth while.

I use the freeware HDE clouds and skye textures. since they are higher resolutions, thy will not give you a better performance. Logical, but they look good and the fps impact is small. With your new super pc, it should not be a serious problem. But just remember that eye candies always have a price and that in the end its a compromise
actually, I find using a good real weather engine to be the most important. The amount if layers that it creates is difficult to do yourself, is timeconsuming and you need Rex or something.

REX4 Texture Direct + REX SoftClouds ... (now that both can be had together); with Opus FSI providing weather info.

How do you like those Soft Clouds, Sandy? They look almost too soft.

Late reply here, sorry. For the most part I like them, but they are too soft in a few weather environments. So it's another of those "your mileage may vary" deals. For the mostly sunny days, I like the extra softness of the few puffy clouds around. For more overcast days it almost looks more like fog than clouds.
