After reading a lot of the pros and cons, decided to get the 'Fixer' software and go with DX10. Visuals, especially the planes, have improved noticeably and it all runs smoother at higher settings. A bit pricey but so is beer and coffee - two of the major food groups.

That's good to hear. I've been debating that myself for some time. Please tell us if anything strange pops up in these next days, okay? If it doesn't go all wonky, I may go for it me own self.

I have been very pleased with the Fixer too. I have been running for a few months now with no major glitches. If some scenery doesn't work, I found a converter to batch convert textures so they should be DX10 compatible. I think it's a good option to breathe some new life into FSX if you don't want to jump to P3D just yet.
