Anyone here with the Carenado F33A? If so, could I have your thoughts please? Thanks

My thoughts on flying it. (The looks are a little dated, but still good) Default, the way it comes from Carenado, its dull, very forgiving and easy to fly. Sound package is dull and boring. (can be changed) With Bernt Stolle´s optional patch from Carenado.com, it comes to live and is a lot more interesting, but it still doesnt catch my attention to much. I had the Dreamfleet Bonanza in FS9, and since then, the Carenado F33 have not really done the thing for me. But it can just be me and the plane is not bad. It was on sale very cheap not last month. If you want a 4 seat retractable gear Carenado plane, I suggest the Commander 114. Again, Bernt Stolle´s patch is a must. Its a bit slower and maybe not as pretty as the Bonanza, but I prefer its flying characteristics. And it has a nice low dashboard with very good views and the sound is really loud and throaty. It sounds like a big American gas engine. I´m not a big Carenado fan, but this one, I take for a ride sometimes, when I´m in the mood for a picnic with the friends on a sunday afternoon.

Thanks a bunch for this Andresico. That helps a lot. I flew the 112 IRL for a short time a few centuries ago and liked it ok, but I'm not a huge fan of it. One thing I liked about the Bonanza is the fact that the GTN's have been fitted for it (and I'm a big Beechcraft fan ), so I still might jump at it yet, but I'll check out to see if they can go in the 114 as well. That might tip the balance. Thanks again!

If you are a big Beechcraft fan, then the F33A is a must and it is a good plane. If you have the V35, I would think more than twice. In FS2004 they had identical airfiles and the FSX versions are very close to the FS2004 versions, so I can imagine that they have identical airfiles as well.
Oh,,, and a think I forgot to mention: The windows are tinted green. Not as much as the FS2004 version but it still makes the outside world look dull. This I hate. You can edit the window files in photoshop, but it doesnt disappear totally.
The AC 114 has clear windows. Its a newer Carenado plane and the quality in general is higher. But the optional FDE is a must. I´m not totally sure, but think the built in GPS is 3D and then adding another one is only possible if Carenado has prepared it for being swapped.

OK, now that's a whole different kettle of fish. Are you saying the F33 uses the air file from FS2004 then? As for the windows, yeah, that's not great. I think I'll pass on this one. You're right about the GPS in the 114. Bert Pieke tried to swap it out but couldn't. If he can't do it, it can't be done. Thanks man, just saved me $30 . I am the one who replied to your post regarding the PC 12 at Avsim. If it's not your loading (and sounds like it isn't, but just double check that something hasn't been "stored" in the aft baggage compartment), I don't know what could do that, that wouldn't affect all your planes. I was thinking controller issue, but you'd see that everywhere. Also, we aren't seeing this from other posters, so it has to be something specific to your setup. Just for S&G's, go through the cfg file and make sure one of the stations doesn't have a rogue entry. It's unlikely, but not impossible. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else on that.

No, I didnt say that the airfile was from fs2004. I said that I think the V35 and the F33A might share airfiles just like they did in FS2004. So if you have one, it might not be so interesting to get the other. If you havent got any Carenado Bonanza, then go for it. With the optional FDE, it is a nice plane. Maybe borrow a sound package from something else with a 6 cyl piston engine. And you can edit the windows so that they are almos clear and without this ugly green glare.
Thanks for the help regarding the PC12. In the end I did a reinstall a few hours ago and now it flies like it should.

AHH, ok, gotcha now. Thanks. Yeah, I might just go for the F33 then. I don't have the V35 so it will be new to me and I can install the GTN into it. Good to hear on the PC 12 .

I hope you like it. And dont forget to install Bernt Stolle´s FDE. Thats essential. The F33A ia a very pretty aircraft. IMO, the prettiest of 3 Bonanzas.

Thanks, and will do. Not exactly sure when I'm getting it, but I agree it is the nicest looking one of them all. Thanks again!

The A36 Bonanza comes in P3D2, but that's not quite the same and I have little time in it. As you can tell by my avatar to the left, I'm a fan of the (Bernt Stolle FDE) Carenado V35. It's not perfect, but I enjoy flying it and regularly use it for screenshots. The livery by JanKees in my avatar is very close to the first one I rode in...
When I was a kid there was a V-tail based at the local airport, and I always liked watching that plane. With it's distinctive tail, it was easy to pick from the herd of Cessnas and Pipers. The owner noticed me watching one day, and after introductions he made phone calls to my parents (I was 12 or so at the time.) Those calls led to him taking me for a nice ride around the lakes and farm country of southern Minnesota. From then on I was hooked, on both aviation and the V-tail. I have, and always will have, a V-tail Bonanza in my virtual hangar. I would happily pay the premium if an outfit like RealAir were to do a 100% new model of the classic v-tail with steam gauges.

Have you ever tried the FSD V35? Its like noone mentions it.
I would also happily pay for a new four seat Bonanza (F33/V35) from RealAir or A2A. They are very classy and classic planes.

Cannot say I have. But I see FSD has a sale on, including their B35 v-tail model. $14.00 doesn't sound bad at all... As is common these days, it's not designed for P3D2 but will probably still work. Trying to decide if I want to spend the $14.00 on this, or put it into the Bunnahabhain 25 fund I've had to start. www.fsd-international.com/sale.htm

Sandy, FSD has a sale every 2 weekend, so you dont have to be in a hurry for this one. I have unsubscribed their news because I got tired of getting the same sales announcement. I think they are on their way out. or at least that there wont be any new AC from them.

Thanks, appreciate the notice. Sad to see a developer go away, but the "circle of life" applies to flight sim add-on developers, too.
