After spending quite a bit of time out west getting the cargo ops smoothed out, I decided it was time for a change. So I headed back east to Quebec City where I would work the Air Ambulance routine for a bit. I've become really enamoured with the King Air of late, and decided that's what I would spend my time on for the next bit, although I planned to spend at least some time on the PC 12 - my second favourite of the lot.
Today's flight was to retrieve a patient who had been injured in a car accident down in the States and bring him back home to Fredericton, New Brunswick. Our flight down was under improving conditions, and we did the 30 minute trip at 17,000. The weather was cloudy but with good vis at Quebec City, and mostly clear at Greenville, Maine. Just for practice though, I shot the GNSS approach at Greenville, disconnecting the autopilot at about 2 miles out. Beautiful country down that way (thanks to Global and Vector ) and there seems to be lots of snow along the whole route. Winter is definitely here.
On the ramp at Quebec City showing off Air Caribou's Air Ambulance's new colours
Taxiing out we passed by a Nolinor CV580
The main terminal building at Quebec City (CYQB) - all thanks to Quebec Virtual Pilots
The firehall
Finally, enroute and above most of the weather at 17k
I stepped outside for a breath of "fresh" air, such as it was
The weather started clearing nicely about 2/3rds into the flight
On the GNSS approach.
On the ramp at Greenville. This guy nearly lost his head when he walked out in front of me taxiing in. I think he's lost .
To be cont'd...
