I thought that Vector 1.2 has automatic ice. Is that not the case? Because I sure don't have any ice around Red Lake (CYRL). Have I cocked something up?

Mine is all frozen Fritz. Make sure you check out the FTX Configurator (it should have made a shortcut on your DT). You need to check the frozen lakes, etc. boxes. See pic below: Let me know if that helps.

Yeah, I did all that. I still have UTX running, if that makes a difference.

I've completely switched to Vector now, to the point where I actually uninstalled all my UTX. Vector is so much better IMO, especially with ice (you'll have ice in Red Lake, but not in N. Carolina for example, whereas with UTX, you'll have ice in the Amazon if you have selected the lakes to be frozen).

Fixed it. I just re-ran the Vector configurater and all is well. I left UTX running as Vector will take priority, at least for the ice. I still want the LC that UTX provides.

OK, but you will find a lot of double shorelines and mismatching textures in place. Just keep that in mind so it won't surprise you when you find them. You may also suffer a noticeable frame rate hit in places. Other than that, you should be ok.

Thanks, I haven't seen any of that yet, but I will keep it in mind. I do have another LC for North America; Scenery Tech. I wonder if that might be more compatible. Oh, well, early days yet for all this new stuff.

I went into my library and just unclicked all the UTX. This way there will be no conflict between the two.

I just ordered Vector, I won't be able to do much with it until the weekend. I've always felt UTX was kind of a framerate hog. The roads often looked blurry for a bit even with the surrounding scenery being sharp. I never had that problem in ORBX fat regions. The only Ultimate Terrain product I'm interested in keeping is Alaska, since they have some custom towns and locations. I might see how that works with Vector. Fritz, I also have Scenery Tech. I guess I'll experiment turning things on and off and see what looks best -Scott
