I suspect most companies will go this way eventually. At least the higher end ones that do more complete modeling. Those are the developers that will really feel the differences and have to put more into their products to work in both sims.

Just a note that AVSIM forums are not allowing guest access any longer. At least the past half dozen times I have tried a link to their forums access has been denied. I know I could register and gain access but frankly I read too much FS forums already and AVSIM has never been one of my "must read" anyway.

I've not been able to access their forums for a really long time now without logging in. I'm like you - don't really need that forum (and I sure don't like the crew that run the place), so "pass the beer nuts."

Sounds like another creative way to make a buck.

Well, now, I certainly agree about Avsim, they haven't been useful or interesting in quite a while. As for the pricing that A2A has adopted, well...our hobby has changed quite a lot over time, ya know it?

It certainly has! And it also would make switching to P3D in its current format very expensive.
