In the style of Claude Monet, LaGaffe paints his nifty one fifty in the impressionist style - a little of this, more of that and plenty of this (apologies to Billy Conolly). 180 hp in this float version - wish I'd had one about twenty years ago.

Whew, I put some time in on the 172 when I did my solo time for my seaplane rating, but never saw a "one-filthy" on floats . That is different for sure. Still preferred something a tad larger though .

That's some nice spray effect. Wish mine looked that good.

Still preferred something a tad larger though . Don't know how much the horsepower increased the useful load but a two place still only carries two people .

Yeah, and it's 2 small people! Not so much for the payload but for the "comfort level" . That's a tight cockpit for 2.

Don't know your size but I'm six feet and over 200 lbs and often the student exceeded that. With the old O200, middly pitched prop and full fuel, that thing got off quite well. The wing was a peach - could outglide all the high wingers I ever flew. Comfortwise, you couldn't be standoffish.

I used to LOVE flying the 150. It was a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, it would perform ok. Even the 172 on floats got off and out in a pretty short space as long as it wasn't loaded up too much. It's just the space inside that I remember being a bit of an issue. I'm 5'9" but have always been a bit stocky, so if I had a "large-ish" instructor or passenger, things got "interesting" .
