Spiffy is a good word for life so far at our new location. We're in a 55+ community (over qualified) and have a relatively small garden. I can cut the grass with my big voltage weed whacker and I'm saving the world by destroying the previous owners' large pampas grass (pampas lovers don't read that part). We were in Thurston County and now in Lewis County and it's amazing how the cost of living changes as you change counties. Our electric bill has lowered substantially and even auto gas is cheaper but not by much. Washington's most creative government agency is 'Slush fund taxes' and they don't miss much. Besides all that Martha and I relax and try to remember the 'good old days' - some more than others. This year's number is '62' - married in 1962 and this'll be anniversary #62. |
