After the 146 flights of today, I decided I wanted to get to my jumping off point for the strips I'd be hauling into tomorrow, so an hour or so after completing the run into Gulkana, I was in the Twin Otter heading for the strip at Chitina. Weather was ok, with some light snow in places. Again, the low sun really made for some spectacular light. The trip was about 20 minutes long in the Air Caribou DHC6-100 (wheels). We didn't have our ski machines out this way yet, and I was assured the strips didn't have that much snow on them, so we decided to chance it on the wheeled machine. Chitina came into view through the snow and I did a left hand circuit to land SE. Not a bad trip, but it does feel funny to be cruising the tree tops after spending most of my time up in the flight levels the past day or so. Some shots from the trip.

The clouds started to part a bit enroute to Chitina

Down and parked.
Tomorrow, I hit the short strips .
