Talk to crash first. Not quite as good as it looks.

I told Glenn I'd be the test mule for this one. PM me Don if you're interested in model details, otherwise I can provide you with a quick overview... Run Forest, run.

The lighting looks very good, at least, but how does it fly? Your snaps are quite nice, as usual.

Looks nice enough. Is there something wonky about the door animation? Looks like you can see the tarmac through the nose when the cargo hatch is open.

There is a cargo door on either side of the nose so you can see through there. If you mean the bulkhead in the nose, it just happens to be almost the exact color as the tarmac so it does look a bit like it's see through. But it's not.

Ahh, yes, I can just see the difference in the grey of the bulkhead, now that you point it out. Thanks.

The 411 on the 441: First item, engine start. They brag about this in their video and while it does look nice I'll tell you how it's accomplished, partly. They have a new start video out and as you watch the engine instruments you'll notice that there's a spike in the EGT (as there should be), nice smooth RPM spool up which is nice and fuel flow bouncing all over the place. Torque you ask? Funny how those needles don't budge from the "OFF" section of the gauge. Ever seen a Tprop in FSX where everything has to go full bore before it settles down to idle? Sure, we all have. This one is no different. So why does the torque appear so sedate compared to other Tprops in FS? Simply because Flysimware ganged the torque gauges to the avionics switch. And the avionics switch is supposed to be off during engine start. So the torque gauges are actually inop during start, making them look very composed. Now I've not as much as stood next to a 441 but it would be hard for me to imagine that the torque gauges wouldn't work during start. I think this is just a way to make the start sequence look better. They recommend having the throttles in a tad bit of reverse during start, and you better have the brakes set. So is this a big deal? Well everything is a compromise in FS, particularly with Tprops. Only you can decide how blasphemous this is. The engine sounds do spool up nicely with RPM increase. As is with most Tprops in FS, you'll find a sweet spot for taxi which can be a bit hard to find. This one I'd say is different than other Tprop models I have, but no worse. Down the runway and airborne. Stable platform, handles well. I've upped the pitch stability a tad but I do that with most models. Careful not to overtorque the engines on take off, it requires careful power setting with some rollback during take off roll. Again, very common with FSX. Don't forget the start locks. You'll realize that when you can't taxi. Nice handling on approach and landing. Seems to fly a bit too nose high in final landing configuration but again, I know nothing about 441's. Graphics are decent but fall short of most planes being produced these days. Parts of it, especially the interior are rather FS9ish. This seems to be an ongoing complaint about Flysimware's models. Glenn asked about the avionics. Valid question, the answer is I don't have a clue. I use the Flight 1 GTN750 for my navigation. It has the usual complement of stuff, GPS, VOR's, ADF. All I can tell you is that they all turn on. Also, I'm not to keen on these old semi functional autopilots because I'm too lazy to fuss with them. So I usually put my own in as a pop up. So can't much attest to the functionality of that particular system. Realism killer? Well I have to make it work for me and with all the retrofit work done these days on older planes, my feeble mind is at ease. I like the interior sounds. The exterior sounds are good but occasionally "lock" into one RPM sound. I've not heard anyone else complain about this. I have the issue on occasion with other planes and punching the "Q" key momentarily brings it right back. So most likely a problem on my end and possibly because I use onboard sound, no sound card. Bottom line, I wasn't thrilled with this when I first bought it. As is always the case sometimes it's just a lack of familiarity. And lack of reading the manual. It's already had several updates and the more time I spend with it, the more I like it. I still don't think it's worth the asking price but I've always liked the 441. So I'll rationalize it that way, thank you. (And you'd be surprised at how much stuff in FS I've rationalized)

Thanks bunches, Bob. I rationalize lots of stuff as well but I don't think I'll do that with the 441. Looks like a pass for me. Appreciate your help.
