For the last three days I have had plans to fly to Wrangell (PAWG) from Dease Lake (CYDL) but something always pops up and I have to scrub the flight. Alas, I thought today was going to be the day to get this flight off the ground but it was not to be. Even though it is a short flight, I just couldn't squeeze a couple of hours out to do it. So there she sits on the tarmac just awaiting. I've been retired for sometime now yet I still don't know where the time goes. Maybe tomorrow if the weather holds up.

Nice!! Retirement does not mean unlimited do-nothing time. They tricked me too!! BP;)

Wait 'til you guys get to your 'Octo' years. Days become fleeting and weeks become your measure of time. I've heard that, after 85, months are the measure - count twelve and you're a year older.

View AttachmentNever got to Wrangell on a personal trip but I was there once with Alaska Coastal Airlines, jump seating on their Convair 580 (round engines). My jumpseat was a one by twelve board just behind the pedestal between the captain/fo seats. On the ground at PAWG we each had a delicious local shrimp salad - best ever then continued down to Annette Island (before Ketchikan airport was built). A good friend worked in the tower there so this was a non-revenue visit. Besides their regular runway, Annette had a long enough gravel version for Boeing to be up there testing the gravel kit for their 732.
