For the FSX'ers - got an email from 'Just Flight' today saying all "Flight Replica" models are on sale 50% off at the JF site. He had the best Super Cub/J3 series and some really good WW2 planes.
Oh, yeah, I have the Super Cub from him. It's very, very good.

How many times have I wished developers like Mike at 'Flight Repicas' would get into the XP market. From what I gather the founding father, Austin Meyers, takes delight in updating and changing just enough to drive developers nuts. Reminds me of my years with the FAA - just when you had mastered the latest set of rule changes, the lawyers would come up with more of their CYA brilliance.

Over the years I've heard stories about Austin Meyers, mostly to do with the fact that he changes things for the love of changing things. It irritates some people, I understand.

To say he's not his own best sales person might be an understatement.

It was one of the things that put me off X-Plane way back when. It seemed there was a new version every week and you had to update continuously.

The 'ready for prime time' updates are fairly well spaced - usually several months however the in between 'beta' releases, if you use them, keep everyone on their toes. They use the entire community as bug testers and consequently get a fair amount of useless info. Depending on how difficult MS makes it, I suspect several 'loyal' fans are ready for a switch.

Still occasionally putter around the corn fields of southern Minnesota in something slower than a car. I especially like to go out at the golden hours near sunrise or sunset, grab screenshots. Then go outside and get real photos... Somehow, the real stuff always seems better and takes me to far more interesting places. Like the bar. But now that's not an option, so... I bug the crap out of my lady friend, take pics of her doing silly things... Like getting her Zen on at the North Shore of Lake Superior last Friday.

I h aven't been paying attention to the progress of FS2020 lately. I wonder if it's still on track.

“DOES THIS MEAN NEW INVITES ARE ON THE WAY?”
– Reddit User
Not at this moment.
With the release of Alpha 1.2.5.0 yesterday, the team is focused on addressing any issues related to the download and install of the updated alpha build. Once we’ve completed that process (~ 1 week), we will focus on assessing the current alpha participation. We appreciate all the great community feedback from our posting of the Build Change List, we will continue to release these notes going forward.

LATE APRIL/EARLY MAY – EPISODE 8 (IFR) will be released.
ALPHA BUILD UPDATE
Yesterday we released Alpha Build 1.2.5.0. The detailed change list can be found here.
The team is currently focused on resolving any issues from the release of the latest Alpha build. We expect this process to take about a week before we will shift attention over to the Alpha participation.
For those currently participating in the Alpha, please make sure to check the weekly test requests post in the Alpha forums!
ALPHA INVITATIONS
We are currently focused on Alpha release tasks and will turn our attention to Alpha participation within the next week.
Ensure that everyone that received an acceptance email has access to the Alpha.
Assess Alpha participation options for adding more people as quickly as possible.
Prioritize access for those that registered early for pre-release build testing.

Still flying daily on FSEconomy. Also flew the Iditarod at Alaskan Winds this year just like I have been doing for many years although I am about the only one there anymore.
