Still and all, it looks very nice.

Almost too nice - each cockpit was absolutely sterile. Everything was there but I'd be nervous about leaving the first fingerprint - a few scratches would make me a lot more comfortable.

I agree but it is only alpha testing, mebbe they'll get dinged up some before release.

Don't know if you visit 'AVSIM' - they have 37 pages of mostly speculation so far.

I haven't visited AVSIM in an age. Just tried my old password and such and it still works but I don't think I'll trade guesses. I'm happy with the clips and what have you on the gamer sites.

I'm still plugging away with FSX until 2020 comes out. I will need some serious work on updating my old Comp. Thanks for the update Fritz ---noticed no preview of my very favourite A/C-- the Lockheed L1049. Cheers, Carm.

I hope they work on some of the vegetation a bit more. The one picture of the plane in the grass - grass looks a LOT out of scale. Also, the picture of Miami - WAYYYYYY too many trees, or their scale is in need of help too! I' know it's early, but ....

I am starting to get the hang of it slowly, G A aircraft landing and ground handling even at easy setting is bloody awful, my new throttle/joystick combo is delayed and my old T16000M is a liability. They are updating weekly and it will get better as they iron out the bugs, the under water Westminster Bridge must be a new security measure to protect the Houses of Parliament. The highly detailed Airports that I paid extra for are not as good as those custom made in FSX and the same for the aircraft, the rendering is beautiful but the range is not very diverse.

The developers have admitted that they are useless at flight modelling and leaving it to the big boys to design and build models that get us up in the air and back down again, all the advances in scenery, clouds, water and other fine detail is useless when the flying is a frustrating cock up. I know it will get better but for an expensive really good Sim that had beta testers feeding years of expert knowledge and hands on from MFS and P3D, I think they should have had their planes tendered out to the Professionals.

After a complete system rebuild (gosh this thing runs fast!) I've bitten the bullet and moved to MSFS2020. I've still got all my P3D stuff, but haven't bothered to load it all in. A couple notes on FS20 (or whatever acronym is in style these days) ...
... I had issues with the Microsoft Store, including a messed up "ownership" add-on that is part of the package. Took several (!!) complete wipes of the SSD on which I have FS20 installed in order to finally get everything installed and working and updated. On each re-install, the entire 60-ish gigabytes had to be redownloaded. I know I wiped the drive with the data, so re-downloading is a thing. But if the Store stuff wasn't broken on install, I wouldn't have that issue, right? See the top of this post... this is a new build machine. No old stuff anywhere.
... There's no single install folder. This thing has parts and pieces scattered across my OS drive and my dedicated FS20 SSD. Many of the files are protected in such a way they cannot be looked at, removed, moved or acted on in any fashion. That's why I had to resort to wiping my drive. I'm glad I had it installed on a separate drive from my OS!
... The tube-liner pilots are not overly happy with this sim. The bush pilots are not overly happy with this sim. The GA pilots are not overly happy. Who is? I'm guessing whoever it is that took my $120 for the primo version. That asshole was laughing all the way to the bank.
... Updates tend to be measured in hundreds of megabytes, if not tens of gigabytes, of data to download. I don't honestly know why they're so large, when the fixes are generally so minor. I remember when I was told I'd never fill a 20mb HDD in my Tandy T1000 running a blistering fast Intel 286-10mhz processor. Okay, that was almost 30 years ago ... Still. There's a better way to do updates, I'm guessing.
... It's a gorgeous sim to putter around in. I am not denying that. It could be better, but out of the 'box' it's far better than I had expected. Roads, even houses, in my home town look amazingly correct. I can follow actual landmarks to local destinations throughout southern Minnesota where 98% of people cruise by at 35,000 feet.
I haven't bought a single third-party add-on for FS20 yet. When I do, it will likely be an A2A aircraft.

I thought the sim would actually be better out of the box. I believe they did it again to us - released an semi-tested product. I am not crazy about the aircraft at all. Best plane is the C-152, imho. Hmmmm. I do think in about a year or so, this product will start to take on a new look. Seems like scenery design is the fastest part. It must be similar to FSX. Aircraft seem to be different. I do like the real world look as you stated. Flying around your town and navigating VFR is great. It is a GREAT GA, VFR sim. I can't wait for some bush planes to hit - the usual ones - Beavers, Otters, Norseman (for Fritz!) Porter, Beech 18's - hopefully newer models of it like G18s models, Volpars, DC-3 and C-47 - not one model pretending to be the other, C-46. Toss in some Cessnas - 206, 207, Helio Courier. MY BELOVED AZTEC and AERO COMMANDERS!!!! I'll be especially happy then!!! I am going to step up my video card and up my memory in the system. I consider this the beginning of a very good platform. Look at FSX. It was / is OLD. However, look at what teams like ORBX did with scenery, and others have done with aircraft. It just ran out of platform. They are on the right track. I just hope people have patience. I also with the backwards capability would have gone back to FSX for aircraft. I do still have FSX in my system. Too much $$$$ to toss it out! BP;)

It's a very high priced Beta so, until users have helped them get it all in a row, I'll maintain a 'wait and see'.
