Please note this is an incremental update... not a major version change. This should mean that the update is *free* to existing P3D v3.x subscribers. Although I am quite certain that a full reinstall will be called for, so we'll see how well Orbx plays this time.

Me too. But I understand that all 3rd party addons compatible with v.3 may not be compatible with v.4. I will wait to see what impact, if any, that may have on my sim.

Apparently I'm an idiot... this isn't 3.4, it's a complete new version step. So yeah, re-purchase likely required. Sorry folks, I was looking at this wrong.

No problem Sandy. My 3.4 is running great, much better than my FSX was. I'm waiting for dust to settle and wait for some add-ons to be available and then consider the switch.

Apparently the switch for aircraft isn't too complicated. Just flight is already offering a couple of theirs for aerofly fs2.

Thanks for the info Sandy. I think I'm going to leave it alone right now. I have uninstalled FSX to use P3D 3.4 exclusively right now, since most of my add-ons work. I'll re-visit v4 once compatibility issues get sorted out.

Is that P3D v3.4 or P3D v4? I have read that not all of the sceneries will be compatible early on with v4 such as the addon airports and vector. I'll give this another year before considering the purchase of a new version.

Made the jump, downloading now, ordered a hybrid, 1 TB drive for it, that will be here tomorrow. Flight Sim addict, why no; I can quit anytime, really I can, really...

Orbx has a new version of FTX Central up. If you install P3D V4 alongside, not over or instead of your existing FSX/P3Dv3, it will slowly move all the stuff over into v4 without having to download everything. Though I did have to download Global Base. Also, you must actively select each package to download and install by placing each area in the download que. Central will go through each one and copy files into v4 at that time. Took a couple hours on my rig.
