Been a long time since there were bears in Florida. There are bears in Florida - Florida Black bear. I lived there for 17+ years and never saw one, but they live there.

While not usually too large there are bears in FL. When I was younger I did a bit of wandering in woods on the Eglin Reservation and saw a couple myself. Shot my first bear at age 11 back home in Idaho and even though it was just a yearling it was as big as full size FL. black bears.
