Still trying to keep everybody informed about VECTOR. Here is another cut n' paste by Nick that explains a bit clearer than Ed's post quoted in my last post.
" How the update works is to reset all the Vector control panel options to default and save a temporary profile.
Then it adds all the new files.
When it has finished, it restores the profile and all should be well.
Any duplicates are deleted by the Vector control panel which has been modified by Pilot's to do this and prevent
the errors.
For reasons that have not yet been established, in the case of the eight files, this process does not take place,
so if they are inactive, the active files are replaced but the inactive files are not deleted.
It cannot be that there are both active and inactive files at the same time and this is what causes the error.
However, diligent research by Ed has revealed that it is only these eight files that are affected, out of tens of thousands.
Deleting them after the update and before the auto-config is run will remove the duplicates and therefore the error.
Once this is done, Vector will work exactly as it should.
As Stuart says, there is no need to run the auto-config because after the update, the pre-existing config is restored.
Manually disabling the airports is a good option but if you delete the offending files, auto-config will work too."

You know I think I'll not lay a glove on it. Did the upgrade as advertised - didn't hiccup so I'll live with inaccurate coastlines and whatever 'til the next one comes along.

Should I assume they are working on a "real" download so we don't have to manually do this? Just wondering!

The VECTOR v1.51 download will only show an error if you attempt the run the Autoconfiguration routine without deleting the 8 files. OR ..... if you only downloaded the VECTOR update after it was fixed there would be no error. One more thing the updated did not change any airport files so there is no need to run the Autoconfiguration in the first place. One final thing when you open VECTOR it will show v1.50 but that is correct so no worries about the version number.

Wish me luck carm, you wont have the 8 files before a download. They were the problem with the first ORBX VECTOR update. That should now be fixed. The only time you need to delete the files is if you get an error trying to run the Autoconfiguration part of VECTOR. (No airports were effected by the updated so there is no reason to run that part of VECTOR except to test that the update works.) Remember that running the Autoconfig. routine does undo all the manual enable/disable airports you had previously. And ......... Good Luck!

If there is no rush in getting it, they are working to correct it and it will be a simple click and load like all their other stuff is. I'm choosing to wait. No rush.

The Vector DL and install went Hunckey Dorey. It took about an hour all told. Those 8 files are not there either, so we'll carry on and see what if anything, has changed. Thanks for the guidance Spud. -----Now we have to do New Zealand ?? Cheers, Carm.
