I guess Just Flight is now working on the successor to the Arrow, and that's the turbo Arrow. Guess I'd like to see a lot more of the original version fixed before they do another one. I think I'll sit this one out.

Mine is actually doing fairly well now. Still runs a bit crooked on the ground but airborne is fine. Adding a charger doesn't seem worth the effort - just higher and a faster true air speed.

They were asking for r/w pilots for beta testers. Since I flew my last Turbo ArrowIII in '78, I'd say I am out of touch with it a bit! LOL!

I looked at the picture of our Turbo Arrow III. It is now in Canada in Pierrefonds, Quebec, and is registered as C-GCIW.
Here is the Canadian registration (2004) This is the same paint as when we had it. This airplane new, was right about $28 - 30,000.00.

Dunno Don. It might come back to you, but either way, you DO know what it should feel like in FSX, and I think that's a problem generally. Your input I suspect would be invaluable.
@dave - did you have to uninstall the original for the update or do you just install the update over top?

FWIW, right click your FSX.exe icon and 'run as administrator' if you don't already have that set in 'properties/compatibilty'. A word about 'rudder trim' - it seems to need some for the takeoff but will go way to the right as soon as you're flying. I'm going to suggest they move it to the yoke.

Thanks Dave. Mine is not installed now so that will make updating easier.

Well, the airplane is certainly better, but whoever did their sounds (TSS?) has zero clue about engine dynamics. It's no better than before. Bad sounds are rather an immersion killer for me so I'm going to see if I can swap them out. In the mean time I'll post a complaint on their forum about it, but I did for V1 and obviously that wasn't a priority for them. At this point I'm still passing on the Turbo Arrow.

Doh. Apparently TSS is working on the soundset (it does actually help to read the info, interestingly enough). So I take back my criticism. Now I'm rather excited by this plane.

Don, the Arrow is still registered as active in Quebec. You can see the info on it here.

Cool! Still flying! 40 years old. She was pretty when she was new. My boss and I went out to test it (play with it when the Piper rep dropped it off). We brought it back with sawgrass stuck in the right nav light from buzzing boats in the Everglades. We were a tad low. We taxied in. He walked out to the plane around the wingtip, pulled the chunk of grass from it, smiled, shook his head and asked my boss if he wanted it. We bought it right then and there. FUN airplane. Sawgrass is about 12 feet tall btw. LOL! BP;)

You had me scared there for a minute. Sawgrass up here is only a foot or two above the waterline ! For a minute there, I thought maybe you were flying a bit TOO low By the by, I checked. I haven't done this aircraft's ELT that I know of. Oh well....

12 may be too high. 8 to 10 is probably a better number. It's still close to the ground! LOL! That would have been cool had you worked on something I flew.
