Since it appears that we never, ever, no way, will get a Norseman maybe someone could do a Canadair? That's a nice airplane. I had a freeware one ages ago that wasn't bad but I've lost it and don't even remember where it came from.

I assume you are speaking of the CL215? Unfortunately, like the Norseman, very few people (and there are less all the time) have any experience with one. Most people have never even seen these airplanes so it makes it hard to do a credible job on them. I spent many years in the bush, including doing some flying for fire fighting ops, and I've only ever seen a couple of 215's and as far as the Norseman goes, I've only ever seen 3 in my life. It's pretty easy (relatively speaking) to do things like Cessnas and Pipers because there's lots of ready material on them, but these other machines are a different story. Someone could probably make something that looks from the outside like a 215 or Norseman, but the interior and flight dynamics would be a best guess only, and (probably like the upcoming Beaver) not even close to the actual airplane. It's too bad because I agree with your desires, but unfortunately these machines are not that common now, although the 215 is much more so than the Norseman; but only in fairly specific locales.

Yeah, sorry, either the 215 or the 415. I think there should be plenty of info for the 415, at least. France still has 12 in service. The other aircraft that they use is the Conair Turbo Firecat. They have 9 of those.

If I remember rightly Fritz I got the Canadair 215 at Fly Away sims. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. I think the main difference between the 215 and 415 was the 415 was a Turbo. It wasn't that long ago that there was an outfit in North Bay Ont that converted the 215's. I was lucky enough and begged enough that I got a guided tour through their hanger shops at the Bay, very interesting. A magnificent aircraft, and tough as a rhinos horn. As for a Norseman Fritz. I, like you would go for a good one but, as its not the sexiest A/C in the world I doubt if we'll ever see one worth keeping. Just checked and it seems that Ont., Lands and Forests have 9 415's in their fleet. Cheers,
