Well, gents, it can be done. It took me a loooong time, mind, and it's far from perfect but it's as good as it's ever going to get, I'm knackered. My new home is quite nice. Why, even the walls and floors are soft!

Looks GREAT! You've only had it for a day. That's not bad for a repaint!

Very nice Fritz! Seems to be very few repaints for Carebeo models ever since they went with their bizarre texture mapping techniques. Takes full contact painting now to wrestle those textures to the ground.

Thanks, men. The dodge that Carabeo uses when they provide a "blank texture for your repaints" instead of a paint kit does get up my nose. It seems pretentious to me. Sigh. Manfred Jahn and his friends do some of the most amazing airplanes that have ever been done for FSX that they just give away and they always include a real "paint kit", because they understand that some of us want to fly for our own outfits. I could go on but y'all know what I mean. P.S. I got real lucky with that paint. The stripe worked first time; I could hardly believe it myself. Plus, it's a good job Badwater has a fairly simple paint scheme and that no close-ups were provided.

BTW, what airstrip is that shot taken? That's just my old base at Prince Rupert.

How many pieces make up the fuselage in the textures?

Have a gander. Only one panel for daylight paint.

PanAm 103 had less parts. That is truly rediculous.

Not only is it ridiculous, it's illogical. Stuff is spread out all over the place. One, (1), elevator is in two parts and mixed up with the flaps and the other three are on the other side of the sheet with the rest of the tail and in one part. The fuselage is in six, (6), pieces and scattered here and yon. It's maddening and I fail to see the point.

I almost think he's trying to see how bad a product he can put out before people stop buying his stuff. Very, very weird.
