Well, a relatively short flight today. This one had us going from Prestwick (Scotland) to Copenhagen (EKCH). I just picked up Fly Tampa's EKCH and wanted to try it out. This would be a bit of an acid test though, with low ceilings and vis and lots of options (but not all by any means) selected. So here we go on our 1.5 hour flight at FL350. Most of these will be of EKCH to show you what they have. Nearing Vr at Prestwick FL350 Ditto. I'm waiting for the PMDG 747-400 V3, but it's sure going to be hard to get me out of this bird, I must admit! Three mile final at EKCH About 1 mile out It had been quite a while since my last autoland so I let it continue and land itself. Flawless!! Some shots on the taxi in to the cargo terminal Departing aircraft on 22, the one we just landed on. Fire station and whatnot Looking at the main terminal Ditto At the cargo terminal. I should have parked at the other end where there weren't any other airplanes. Airport is extremely well done. My performance going in was very good - certainly no worse than I get in the terrible triangle at KSEA or CYVR. Very, very flyable. I did see microstutters and I did get some significant flashing of the ground tiles (to black), but I see that in remote areas of Alaska as well. Could be to do with my system. In any event, I think these people are going to be getting a fair chunk of change from me. Orbx is fantastic at the smaller airports. These guys seem to be the guys to go to if you need to park a 747 or 777. Very nicely done.

Yeah, I like it so much, it's about to get a new livery for a new outfit . As for the airbrush, I'm heading back to Montreal (another Fly Tampa airport ) shortly after a quick stopover in Amsterdam. I think it's on board my airplane now . Of course, then it's got to get to where you are, but that shouldn't take long

Looks good Glenn. The Fly Tampa stuff looks nice. I'm considering their Boston since I'm in and out of there sometimes.

Hey Scott. Thanks for this. Yes, I'm considering that one too. I'm likely getting Schipol first but we'll see. Right now I'm waiting on the PMDG 747-400F V3. Apparently the tutorial flight takes you from KDEN to KSFO. Both those airports are enhanced by Flightbeam and I'm really considering giving them a try. Their customer support looks very good and they seem to have mastered a technique that keeps your FPS' up even in very high density airports like what they do. I've downloaded the manual and will have a look at that, as it does install a bit differently to most sceneries from what I understand. Avsim gives it a great review, but then they also praise the heck out of Carenado stuff without many qualifiers, so I'm not putting much stock in their review, but it is something. www.flightbeam.net if you're interested.

I did pick up Toronto and Montreal from FT just now though. Tomorrow is the inaugural flight of the new ops from EKCH to CYYZ, so we'll see how that pans out. Toronto is supposed to be terribly hard on frames, which is not related to FT (addon scenery just makes it that much harder though). A quick test this afternoon showed that it didn't seem bad at all, but I have a lot of things turned off and no weather. We'll see how it is after a 9 hour flight with weather in a 777 <LOL>. I'll let you know, but if you can run Toronto, you can run pretty much anything from what I hear.

Good thing it went DHL. I "crashed" (well, the sim crashed) coming into Toronto. Bummer.

Update. I bought the new regulator, because the one I had started to dump air, causing the compressor to run all the time, which makes it overheat. AS SOON AS I ORDERED A NEW ONE, it started to work perfectly like it has for the past 5 years. Grrrrrrr! At least I have a brand new backup. I won't be down for any longer than 5 minutes to swap them out!!
