Without a doubt, one of my very favourite single Cessnas (and favourite planes, period) is the Cessna 210. I've seen them do exec duties and bush duties, sometimes on the same flight. They are big, rugged and very stable to fly, both IRL and in FSX. It was a no brainer for Caribou Aviation to have one. Today I'm moving some company personnel down to Port Hardy from our Bella Coola base in the Turbo Centurion. We'd do a GPS departure out of Bella, following the inlet until we had enough altitude to go direct. Today's flight would be at 10,000 ft. The weather was decent, but this was an IFR filed flight plan. On the ramp loading up with 3 passengers and a wee bit of gear. With half fuel tanks we were still well under gross Bella Coola isn't lighted so we had to wait until there was enough light to see by before departing At 8000 ft we were just starting to see the tops Beautiful ride up top, with a ground speed of about 160 kts. We had a definite headwind on this trip. It's not just the handling I love so much about the 210. It's a real looker as well! A few wispy tops of the Cu were coming up to "greet" us as we made our way south. The low sun was peeking out from behind the cloud deck which was starting to dissipate, revealing the Coast Range underneath After about an hour, we were lined up for 11 at Port Hardy. I didn't need it, but I did use the ILS as a backup Close final on a very stable approach Down for the day. Great flight in all. Thanks for looking. It's good to be "riding the Caribou" again

Great report Glenn . I really need to fly the 210 again soon. I've never used it that much but you are making me want to look at it more! -Scott

Thanks Scott . I'm thinking of making the 210 my "private" machine, I like it that much. I stuck the GTN in as a pop-up (Garmin 696).

Excellent PIREP and snaps!! I'm glad I put the 210 back on. Made back in Carenado's heyday. (As in Hey, this model actually works. Mostly.)

Thanks man . Yeah, I love that 210. It's never come off since the day I put it on and it will stay that way. Very little of it doesn't work and even then, it's just a gauge misalignment (Amps always show a healthy charge) and nothing more. I've seen that IRL so I'm not worried about it. Oh, and he put in a slaved DG but didn't slave it. I've fixed that.

This and almost every other Carenado/Alabeo ever made with a slaved DG! I was pleasantly surprised recently when I didn't have to fix the 406. Usually it's the first thing I check with one of their planes, and I usually have to fix it . -Scott

I think they're idea of what the term "slaved" means is different to ours . I did drop them a line and told them about that way back when. As you can see, it had a big impact.
