Good flight in the books. Heading back to Norway via Bangor in the 777. Today's leg was Vancouver to Bangor. All the way at FL330, with some nice headwinds. We were pretty heavy leaving Vancouver, carrying extra fuel, which meant a rotation speed of about 170 something. We got off and were climbing just fine though once we got cleaned up, and over the mountains we went. It was about 23:45 when we departed so this was a redeye run. We were about 6 hours enroute and landed in Bangor about 08:40 local time. Got to play with some of the features in the 777, including learning how to balance the fuel (which I managed to do without killing an engine(s), which was nice ), and a couple of other lesser obvious functions. Man, this thing sure is fully featured. I've found too that if you have your nosewheel right on the centreline of the runway, you hear the gear thumping on the embedded lights. Pretty cool. Anyway, some pics for you. Off to either the UK or Norway tonight.
Loading up in Vancouver at the east cargo ramp.
Taxiing out for RWY 08R
Lined up and ready to go
Enroute, northwest of Calgary
Finally see the rising sun north of Montreal
Breaking out of the overcast gave us a beautiful view of the snow-covered landscape of Maine
Short final for RWY 15 at Bangor
Down and parked in the cargo area along with several 747's. Good flight!
Scott, your load(s), should you accept the contract, are ready for you at the cargo terminal now. I don't think anything is an actual rush. Have fun
