I am guessing that since it has been over a week since Glenn was here, he has probably given up on simming for good. The tone in his last postings certainly sounded like it. I hope it's not the case!!

Last time I saw Glenn, he was running crazily towards the woods clad in nothing but his spandex onesie screaming in tongues with a few barely decipherable words such as "Orbx" and "Carenado" It was hard to see through the blowing snow, but as he reached the edge of the trees it appeared he was grabbed by a huge Yeti and hauled off into the woods. So at this point, he was either someone's dinner or he's madly in love. Only time will tell.

Just as I thought, another one of those "picnics".

I am hoping all is well with him. I am starting to get worried. Crash - I don't think we have to worry about the Yeti. If a Yeti saw Glenn in a spandex onesie, I am sure the Yeti would retreat much faster than it would advance!!

***Edit - I noticed he has removed his avatar. I believe he has exited the hobby.

A good friend called me to tell me about this thread. Thanks for your concern.
To answer a couple of questions, yes I still have a pulse (more or less) and no, I haven't quit the hobby. I won't deny I've had my mouse cursor hovering over the "Remove Program" button a few times of late, but I'm still with it. I HAVE though, been on a bit of a sabbatical because to be honest, I've been pretty tired and fed up with the sim and with many of the developers (particularly the latter). I won't get into a long diatribe about what I think is wrong with the hobby (those are in the past now), but suffice to say that Don was absolutely correct about the advent of payware and what that would mean to the hobby. Much of that has to do with developers who are in it "professionally" but as soon as you raise a pointed question, they claim they don't have enough time to deal with their personal lives to take this on full time. Sorry, but you made it a business, so you're going to be held to a business' schedule and standards, especially when it's my money that's involved.
Part of my sabbatical though, has been I really miss what Bushpounders (and before that, Alaska-By-Don) was founded on. Seems like nobody is doing any flying here anymore, save for Crash and Dave. Seemed like I was the only one posting about my flights, and I got tired of reading nothing but my own stuff. Maybe that's just evolution, but BP/ABD was all about taking inspiration from others' flights. I don't want to be ruffling feathers, especially among friends (assuming I still have any after this!) so I won't go on about this. Anyway, right now I'm into heavy cargo which is hardly appropriate for Bushpounders, but my non-revenue flights could still qualify I guess. Those, assuming I stay in this (and that's still an "if", but that has as much to do with my declining health as it does with FS at this point), I will post from time to time, but not 777F or 747F flights.
Anyway, yeah, I'm still around and I have been looking in from time to time. I didn't post anything up to now because I wasn't sure if I was staying or going. Either way I would have let you know. I have too much respect for you all to just "vanish" but I probably should have posted before now on what I was doing. Sorry 'bout that. Thanks again for your concern.
Glenn

I think we all go through a period of reflection and reassessment with the same questions. I started with FS2002 and finally this year it became apparent that it was time to sort things through. Problems with the sim and the PC made me take a real hard look at this hobby. Out of this, I discovered many things that no longer held my enthusiasm, however, some aspects did. I decided to focus on what appealed to me most and how the hobby could feed into that. As a result, I have closed my eyes to many of the latest, greatest, and amazing addons and have become very selective in that regard. Importantly, the fun factor has definitely improved. Glenn, I wish you the best on your journey.

Glad to see you around!!! I was getting worried!!! This is a good thing! I know about posting. To be honest, I have just gotten lazy about posting pictures. I fly about 2-3 times a week and should post something!! I'm sure others do as well. Feel free to post. This site content has changed over the years for sure. It started as bush, but has morphed into just about everything else. You know you are more than welcomed here anytime for any reason. I would have called, but I don't have your direct phone number. When I saw you were gone for almost a week, I got concerned. Talk soon.

I have been re-discovering RTMM sceneries, and enjoying Alaska. I guess I should post more screenshots too. Sue

Never hurts to take a bit of a break now and then . I've been busy painting my Air Hauler fleet and fiddling with my AI add-ons. Hope I can post more screenshots soon. -Scott

Yeah, I'm guilty of not posting screenshots anymore. I began to feel that all of my shots just looked alike, somehow, so I just quit taking them. I am fairly busy with my work as well and don't even fly at all some days but that doesn't mean I'm not still interested. I shall make more of an effort.
