Just before the sale of the Orbx stuff runs out I find myself with a bit of the ready. I was thinking about Homer and maybe Bonner's Ferry and perhaps those Colorado ones. The screenshots are carefully marvellous, sure, but it's always better to ask around. Any opinions, suggestions or observations would be welcome. Seems that I rather like the Orbx airports.

I like every one I have bought so far. I do not have any of the Alaska ones; mostly the California, Colorado, Montana areas. In fact, I am going to grab 4 more today before the sale ends. That will be it for now. Maybe.

I have all the Alaska ones, Homer, Kenai, Yakutat, Ketchikan, Juneau, Gustavus. I fly out of those areas quite often, so it's nice to have detailed airports. I have a few around the Pacific Northwest for some leisure flights around the San Juan Islands. I don't fly there all the time, but I also didn't pay full price for any of them . I like to look for airports that also have some enhanced scenery. Some of their airports are more like mini-regions. Jackson Hole has enhanced detail around the Tetons, and I know there are others out there like that. -Scott

I just grabbed my last three. That makes ten for the month. I got Orca, Skagit and Anacortes. All really nice and minutes away from Friday Harbor, Victoria and Vancouver and each other as well.

Right, then, off to get some. My bank manager is going to get the surprise of his life!

Don, you sure you don't want Squamish and Bella Coola (oh, and Stewart while your at it)? Really good, although none are strictly IFR. If you get Grovestine's stuff, these are worth a look.
You think YOUR bank manager is in for a surprise, Fritz? Wait till mine sees what I have done! I think a coronary will be the topic of the day by the end of next week <LOL>.

Note: According to ORBX site that Friday Harbor airport seems to have some serious issues for "some" users. Memory runs out and sim crashes.

I have had zero problems with it. I bought it when it first came out.

Consider your self lucky I guess. There are several posts about problems and I have a VA mate that has a dropout every time he fly's near it. I don't do ORBX airports so no problems for me.

Friday Harbour is in the "The Triangle" and since that area never has worked well for me, I have ignored it. Mebbe with my quicker machine ...

From a strictly "screen shooter's" (which is all I am) point of view, I like Jarrad Marshall's stuff - Monterey, Redding, Palm Springs, Sedona and Telluride. For the Alaska stuff, other than Juneau which is good, none of the others appeal - I've flown into all of them (except PAKT) many times.

I'm a fan of Bonner's Ferry. Can't really lay a finger on why, but I like the area. It's well represented and can be a challenge flying into or out of if/when weather is marginal or below.
I keep forgetting to pick up Bozeman ... Which is a nice ride from Bonner's Ferry.
I do wish that they'd look at Coer D'Alene Idaho. Nice, mid-large airport well situated.
Also wish Orbx would fix Felt's Field for P3D3. That one is in Spokane, Wa., and is a favorite destination for me.
