With everything now set up (more or less), it was time to get down to work. Our first flight was a Twin Otter run from Prince Rupert to Massett, about a 60 nm jaunt across a pretty cold ocean. It was quite foggy when we left YPR but we were on top nicely at 6,000 ft. The trip itself was uneventful, except for some "interesting experiences" with the autopilot (time to dig out the manual for that one!!) and about 20 nm out we started our descent through the broken cloud deck for Massett. The weather there had deteriorated somewhat from when we left and it's a VFR only strip, so we got clearance to descend to 1,000 ft. At that point we had good ground contact and set up for a left base for 15. The landing was also uneventful and of course, we only used a very small amount of runway with this machine. At the terminal we deposited our cargo (this was a cargo run) and decided to go in for a coffee before making the return trip. Enroute on top On the roll out at Massett Down and unloading
