So? How is it? One complaint at SOH so far about overly sensitive trim.

I won't buy it until it is available at PC Aviator. These were not at all touchy on the trim from my memory. I'm sure it can be fixed in the cfg.

Waiting to hear if you get a reduction in sound pitch from full power to climb power. And no, these were DEFINITELY not trim sensitive. I remember cranking that overhead trim "wheel" a whole lot of times for a fairly big change in pitch. It has a stabilator, which is very effective, but it wasn't overly sensitive. That is fixable in the CFG for sure.

Exactly. You could turn that crank two turns or more to get the change you wanted. Yes, the sound. I could set the engines by sound without even looking at the gauges after a while. I hope this is going to be good. It usually takes PC a few days to get a copy to sell.

WTF? On several of their screenshots on their site, they show the manifold pressure at 34". Say what??? These are supposed to be shots of the finished product. Nowhere does it say anything about this aircraft being turbocharged. The only turbocharged machines I knew of had after market turbos, and they were VERY rare AFAIK. Jeeeezzz

Haven't had much time with it yet but a quick question for you Don, or any other Aztecers. The green band on the manifold pressure gauge goes up to 40" but at full power it only pulls 34". As Glenn says, is this thing supposed to be turbocharged? Were they RW? Don, do you remember what kind of power settings you used? Another oddity, the autopilot won't follow the GTN path in pitch mode. It will in altitude hold but not pitch hold. Go figure.

Very rarely were they TC'd, and those were manual chargers, aftermarket items, and extremely rare. You had to manually turn them on or off. I can find nothing on the website that says this is turbocharged, but you're right. As for it only drawing 34", this is another Navajo. In fact, I'll bet you find the power settings, sounds, etc. identical. I'll bet you also find there is no power reduction sound from 34" down to about 24". Any takers? I'll also bet that IRL, that's total BS about them drawing only 34" instead of the full 40".

Yeah, the sound reduces with power so at least they didn't carry that over. But I'm real curious about the power settings, MP gauge.

How about that. I'm amazed (sarcasm intended). The power settings are completely bogus, unless Don came across one IRL that was blown. With ours, we wouldn't turn the chargers on until above 10,000 ft (which we didn't do for reasons mentioned above).

Well, I stand corrected. This from Lie-to-pedia: "There were also turbocharged versions of the later models, which were able to fly at higher altitudes."
There you go. Wrong again.
I guess this is actually helpful considering we usually fly around mountains. So, not all bad. I am extremely skeptical of the power settings though.

I flew a B model. No t/c. Easy power settings - Full power - props forward - takeoff / 25" - 2500 RPM - climb / 23" - 2300 RPM - cruise. Worked on damned near everything back then!

Holy shit! That airplane is $48 and change Canadian!! Wow. That's a lot for a dodgy model. I'm going to wait and see if some "user made patches" get offered. Then I may wait again.

IF(!!!!) I get it, I will de-turbocharge it! I remember those power settings well Don. Worked great on the 185, 206,182, etc., etc., etc
