Good for you Fritz. You will enjoy you new toy I'm sure. It has a lot of stuff I got on my new toy, such as the video card and Power supply. Mother board also is an ASUS specs about the same. I see you got 32GB RAM ---good, I got 16 only. I use Windows Home Premium 64 bit. As for performance, --- I'm happy, the only times I have problems are when I forget myself and over load the computer with extras which I don't need , or for that matter --use. I think you will be happy with that setup. Good luck, Cheers , Carm.

I just choose what looks right to me and it usually works out. I went for 32Gb RAM because maybe then I can get a little more use from it before it becomes too slow. I got Win 7 Pro because it was offered as a perk, cuz I'm a good client, ya know it? I do understand about extras that ain't necessary. Cheers,

State of the art. My only thought is to have your FSX on a separate drive (perhaps one your already have?).

I've never understood the argument for that. Is there really a good reason? I tend to buy bigger hard drives than I need and keep FSX in a separate folder far away from "C>Program Files". That has been fine for me. Perhaps I'm missing something and should consider it again. Thanks.

That's a solid system for sure . Something to consider is do you need 32GB of RAM? And what's the cost to move up to a GTX 970 4GB video card. I have one and I love it . I would check to see how 16GB of RAM + a 970 compares in price. Unless you have other things you are doing that need the RAM. For most gaming 32 is probably overkill. I'm still running 8GB and doing fine. Just some things to consider -Scott

The fly in the ointment was/is having FSX in "Program Files(X86) - sounds like you've got it covered with a separate partition.

Yeah, 32Gb is probably more than I really need but I do have some graphics programs that gobble it up and I figured, what the hell, what's another €125?

Looks great Fritz!! Yeah, that system will do you for about anything, including graphics programs. I agree with your decision re the 32 gigs. I am thinking of going up to that myself, primarily to handle Photoshop cc, OnOne and Lightroom. Can never have too much RAM for those programs. Congrats!

I have Photoshop, sure, but the program that uses just about all the memory you can offer is the one I use for my lighting design work. (Vectorworks) I love it but it can run slow updating changes. I figure that if I throw RAM at it, it'll speed up a bit. I don't know what OnOne does. Is it another photography tool?

If you're doing any kind of graphics or modeling work, the more RAM the better. From what you are running, sounds like you need it -Scott

Yes Fritz. OnOne Photo 10 is a plugin for PS, although it can operate independently as well. I'm just trying out the new version now (well, in the next few days).
